Youtuber proves Flat Earther wrong by showing him space for the first time ever

The experiment led to the Flat Earther seeing the curvature of the Earth with his own eyes

Flat Earth was once an anarchic belief that fizzled out a long time ago, in fact, even Greek philosopher Plato was writing about a spherical Earth all the way back in the early fourth century BCE.

However, in recent years there has been a resurgence in Flat Earth belief and the idea has now turned into a full blown conspiracy theory, with so-called Flat Earthers believing that NASA is trying to fool the world into thinking Earth is a globe.

Instead, they think that our planet is more plate-shaped with a huge ice wall keeping us all in.

But now, one believer has seen the light after a YouTuber proved him wrong by showing him space for the first time.

Uploading the video to his YouTube channel, Jack Gordon documented his experience sending a balloon off into space and, using VR goggles, the Flat Earther, named Sebit, was able to see the curvature of the Earth for himself for the first time.

The incredible experiment proved that he had been wrong all along and the Earth isn’t actually shaped like a frisbee after all.

While Sebit was cautious to say he was wrong, he did admit that he could see a ‘slight curvature’ when looking at the balloon’s view of Earth.

Many people took to the YouTube comment section to share their own reactions to the video.

One user wrote: “People who think you should be able to just ‘see’ the curvature don't quite grasp how big the earth is... You are literally always seeing the curvature of the earth, the radius is just so freakin’ huge that you're not going to notice it until you can see a good percentage of the earth all in one shot.”

Another said: “It doesn’t matter what you show flat earthers, you could even put them in space and they still would not believe the earth is round.”

A third person commented: “Flat earthers never take into account the scale of the Earth.”

A fourth wrote: “Kudos for Sebit. He believed what he saw with his own eyes and had the guts to admit to have seen a slight curvature.”

A fifth joked: “Earth is actually a donut.”

And a sixth user added: “We are not obligated to prove to people such as him what is already verified by science and learning. The burden of proof is on those who challenge what is known. They do have the right to challenge scientific findings, but the burden of proof is on them.”
