It is possible that Nostradamus might have predicted the ‘city killing’ asteroid that threatens to hit Earth in 2032.

The looming asteroid formally known as 2024 YR4 has been the topic of much discussion amongst scientists.

NASA is using the James Webb Space Telescope to gain more information on the space rock, which could collide with Earth in 2032.

If it does, it is highly likely to cause damage and has worryingly been described as a ‘city killer’.

And now, people believe that it’s possible Nostradamus predicted this event all the way back in the year 1555.

While the psychic lived 500 years ago, his followers believe that his predictions are still relevant today, and one could make a huge impact if it comes true.

According to believers of his work, Nostradamus wrote about an asteroid crashing into our planet.

He wrote: “The great mountain encompasses seven stadia. After peace, war, famine, flooding. Shall spread far, sinking many countries. Even the ancient landscapes to their foundations.”

He went on to say: “At the place where Jason has his ship built, So great a flood shall come so suddenly,’ he wrote, referring to the Jason of Greek myth who built the ship Argo on Mount Olympus, Greece.

“One shall not have place or land to attach. The wave shall mount to Olympic Fesulan.”

It’s thought that the asteroid will land in the ocean, if it does make impact that is.

But while experts don’t think that any waves created by the collision will reach the land, if the asteroid hits closer to the coast then it could cause a tsunami.

Although unlike Nostradamus’ prediction, Greece isn’t a possible impact site.

Instead, the cities at risk are Mumbai in India, Lagos in Nigeria and Bogotá in Colombia.

It doesn’t seem like people are too concerned though, as many have taken to social media to share their criticisms of the psychic.

On Reddit, one user wrote: “Dude said a lot of stuff, at this point he's like 1 for 10000 going by what people claim he’s predicted.”

Another joked: “Are you kidding me? He correctly predicted 10 out of last 0 apocalypses.”

And a third person added: “Yeah, but it’d still be cool if he hit the nail on the head with this one thing…”

So, we shouldn’t be losing sleep over the asteroid just yet, after all, NASA have determined there is currently just a 2.3% chance that the rock is on a course headed for Earth.

There is every chance that it’ll miss us entirely.
