An ancient bible has revealed why this year could be set to become a ‘crucial’ turning point for the planet.

The new year inevitably comes with resolutions and hopes for the year ahead and it turns out that 2026 could be a big one.

That is, if we’re to believe a collection of historic biblical writings which were found inside a bible.

This comes after a video was posted to Instagram by Kaylah Hodgins who examined timelines discovered in the texts.

In the clip, she explained: “This is a standard Holy Bible, it has the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Apocrypha. It was made in 1818.”

Reciting the text in question, Hodgins said: “From Adam unto Christ are 3,974 years, six months and ten days, and from the birth of Christ unto this present day is 1815.

“Then, the whole sum of numbers and years from the beginning of the world unto this present year of our Lord God 1815, are 5,789 years, six months and the said odd 10 days.”

In the holy book, the Instagrammer went on to explain how it lists the creation date as 4,004 BC.

Comparing this to another bible, Hodgins followed the logic of the bible to determine that this makes 2026 the 6,000th year.

Some religious beliefs cite 6,000 years of human labor followed by rest so while it has not been predicted that this year could mark the end of the world as we know it, it might become a pivotal turning point for humanity.

Many people have taken to the Instagram comment section to share their own reactions to the clip, with one user writing: “We in the sixth day thennn?????? Goin on the seventh.”

Another said: “This is such an interesting pattern to look at. One thing I’ve been learning is how much calendars and genealogies shift depending on intercalation and skipped generations. It’s made me way more cautious about tying biblical time to a specific Gregorian year, but I love seeing people dig into this. I am obsessed with the calendar.”

A third person joked: “Do those bibles cite their sources for their math?”

And a fourth added: “One problem with the math. There are thirteen months in a year not twelve, so there may be time left. That bible should have the original calendar.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see to find out if the prediction is right!
