Bryan Johnson accused of 'breaking the number one rule of business' with a shocking announcement.

Bryan Johnson's life is a constant stream of eyebrow-raising decisions and bold experiments.

Recently, the tech entrepreneur and anti-ageing enthusiast broke the internet by livestreaming a six-hour magic mushroom experience. In what many called his most polarising stunt to date, the biohacker documented himself taking a 'heroic' 5.43g dose of psilocybin mushrooms, documenting the entire experience in what he claimed was in the name of science.

After making a name for himself as the founder and former CEO of Kernel, Johnson is more recently known as the 'biohacker' who takes hundreds of supplements a day, measures his son's erection data, and spending $2 million a year on his strict regime.

Now, the co-founder of Project Blueprint has shocked his fans by announcing he has a girlfriend.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, an X (formerly Twitter) message, and an intimate YouTube video, Johnson admitted he was in a long-term relationship with his co-founder, Kate Tolo. The subject of Netflix's Don't Die documentary posted in an albeit very long tweet: "Guys…I have a girlfriend.

"Now I know what you’re thinking…how is it possible that anyone would want to be with me? I understand where you’re coming from. I think the answer is: her puzzle piece fits mine."

He went on to explain how a biography he read in his early twenties shaped his vision of an ideal partnership. "In my early twenties, I read the biography of the American founding father John Adams," Johnson explained. "He and his wife Abigail had one of the great partnerships in American history; intellectually matched, emotionally intertwined, and co-architects of something bigger than themselves. I wanted what they had."

Johnson's post shared how their working relationship gradually evolved into something romantic, despite both initially being determined not to 'imperil their work relationship' and 'remaining deeply skeptical of each other.'

According to Johnson, it was actually Tolo who pushed him to share his anti-ageing experiments publicly and helped him create the name Project Blueprint.

“Whether we liked it or not, we’d become each other’s person,” he continued.

But not everyone's celebrating. Some followers think dating his business partner contradicts his extreme dedication to longevity and is 'breaking the number 1 rule.'

One user retweeted Johnson's announcement: "as cute as this love story is (didn’t read allat), isn’t she his business partner?! is bryan breaking the #1 rule here??? never f*** the company. ESPECIALLY NOT if you’re on shrooms."

Someone else commented: "dude is trying not to get OLD but still making a gf is crazy".

Johnson built his fortune by founding Braintree, which was acquired by PayPal in 2013. He later established the venture capital firm OS Fund and neurotech startup Kernel. He has two sons and a daughter from a previous marriage.

Back in 2023, during an appearance on Steven Bartlett's 'Diary of a CEO' podcast, Johnson admitted finding a compatible partner had been difficult as many women found his lifestyle too intense to handle.

The tech mogul added that his relationship announcement might invite 'joy, mocking, or hate' but he decided to share the news anyway as 'a good influence for others who are either looking for or working on their own relationship.'
