It's sometimes hard to fathom just how rich the world's richest people are, and while we talk a lot about how much money Elon Musk has lost since he inserted himself into American politics, he's still far and away the world's richest man.
With Elon Musk currently worth a jaw-dropping $406.1 billion, his net worth puts him a whole $132.5 billion ahead of Larry Ellison in second place.
Mark Zuckerberg is in third with $248.7 billion, while Jeff Bezos takes fourth with $238.8 billion - well, his recent wedding was rumored to have cost $50 million.
Compare this to the likes of George Lucas ($5.3 billion), Oprah Winfrey ($3.1 billion), and Kim Kardashian ($1.7 billion), and you start to see how much difference there is between the rich and the megarich.

After all, Scarlett Johansson is Hollywood's highest-grossing actor, and she's only worth a reported $165 million.
Despite his net worth taking a major hit, Elon Musk's bank balance is on the rise again, and he could be the world's first trillionaire.
Over on TikTok, one woman has tried to put the net worth of Elon Musk into context, comparing the average American salary to the net worth of the tech mogul.

Heading to youvsabillionaire.com, Rachel Sevcik noted how the average American salary is $66,000, then put that figure in the site and pulled up some stats.
In the video, Sevcik explains how us putting 25 cents in a parking meter would be the equivalent of Musk buying a Rolls-Royce. Things only get wilder from here. Someone on an average American salary buying a $350,000 home is akin to Musk spending 19 cents, while finding $20 in our pocket is the same as him finding $37 million in his pocket.
She goes on to say that anyone who earns over $59,000 a year is in the top 1% of earners around the world.
This is because some parts of the world live in such extreme poverty, $59,000 is insanely rich compared to their average earnings.

Putting Musk in a whole bracket of his own, Sevcik accuses the Tesla overlord of taking aid away from the poorest with his Department of Government Efficiency cuts and attacks on USAID.
She concludes: "It is going to cause mass death for those people...it should not be a radical idea that billionaires should not be influencing our politics to make poor people poorer."
Others agreed with her video, as one person suggested: "There should be a cap, anything over $999,999,999 should be used for humanitarian aid."
Another added: "A billionaire could give every person living in the United States $1 million, and it won't make a dent in their pocket. I think about this every day."

A third said: "Elon Musk could single-handedly end world hunger several times over, end homelessness in the world, and end poverty, but no, he wants a base on Mars."
A fourth concluded: "All billionaires are evil and you'll never convince me otherwise."
In reality, it's hard to put into context just how rich the likes of Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Ellison really are, let alone trying to get our heads around the fortune that Musk is sitting on.
