Dozens of Samsung users have reported experiencing being locked out of their accounts and it turns out there is actually an unusual reason behind it.
Multiple Samsung customers have taken to social media to share how they are unable to sign into their accounts, with some even being met with a notice that reads: “your account has been deactivated due to a security issue.”
This has impacted a number of people with Samsung Galaxy devices with access to Samsung services such as the Wallet and other apps restricted.
The reason behind the accounts being locked is down to ‘security reasons’, at least that is the message users are receiving.

However, if you are one of the unlucky ones finding it difficult to sign in then fear not, because Samsung has been helping users to regain access.

Many people have taken to the internet themselves to document their own experiences on the matter, with one user writing on the Samsung Community forum: “It seems that today a lot of people from different countries have suffered suddenly the same problem: when they try to login with his Samsung account ID they receive the error "your account has been deactivated due to a security issue". And there is nothing you can do to solve it. You can change the password, but that does not activate again your account.
“Ive tried to contact to Samsung support center in my country, and they have created a ticket. A few hours later, they asked me some questions through an email but I can't answer to that email because it does not accept any incoming response. So I'm in a dead end. How could I activate again my account ID? I cannot even use my tv, Samsung wallet, SmartThings, galaxy store, etc.”
Luckily, another user provided a solution that had worked from them, saying: “I woke up to my US Samsung account working today. Yesterday, I got the "deactivated for security reasons" issue. I tried calling 8557950509 but that was basically useless since no human answered and the bot texts you a link to troubleshoot further (which was also useless because it basically just said to reset your password).

“I then started a chat with Samsung US support (can't remember how exactly I navigated to the chat. I think I just Googled Samsung Chat support). The chat agent advised my account was in banned status and they can't do anything on their end but to escalate it. So they escalated, gave me a ticket number and asked me to wait 48 hours.”
It took 12 hours but the person was able to get back into their account, adding: “First thing I did was removed my old account from my phone and logged in using this new account that I created just to be able to post here yesterday. I did this because when my account got deactivated, my phone was basically locked to that old account with no way of removing it.”
