The future of the car industry is supposedly here, and while Tesla has been facing recent troubles thanks to Elon Musk's ties to the company and worries about Donald Trump's tariffs, it's still a pioneer in the electric vehicle scene.
Whether driving a Model S or a Cybertruck, one of Tesla's big selling points is its Full Self-Driving capabilities.
While we don't know what's next for Tesla as Trump's tariffs threaten to decimate the market and Musk warns of their serious impact, the controversial CEO has been on the promotion bandwagon ahead of some presumably tough earnings talks.

As well as saying Teslas will be able to drive to your house by the end of the year, he responded to one complaint about the safety of Full-Self Driving and said: "Tesla self-driving will be far safer than human driving."

Reminding us of when the President turned the front of the White House into a Tesla showroom, the timing is coincidental, as Joe Rogan has just been gushing about Tesla and its Full Self-Driving.
Writing on X, Rogan reposted a video from influencer Mario Nawfal, showing how FSD works. Rogan added: "I had my Tesla Model S drive me home the other day with FSD, and it's f**king wild.

"Changes lanes to avoid slow traffic, stops at red lights and stop signs, hits the blinkers and turns for you. It's bananas."
Despite Rogan's review, FSD isn't autonomous because it requires the driver's attention. The hands-free driving suite continues to evolve, and as long as your attention is tracked by the cabin camera, you're able to drive without having your hands on the wheel.
Still, Tesla is supposed to ensure that drivers are alert at all times and are able to take over if there's a problem.
Responding to Rogan's musings, one person wrote: "Literally no one cares. 99% of Teslas I pass I see the person holding the wheel. No one gives a damn about FSD lol."

Another added: "Why are you, a ‘comedian’, doing an unpaid advertisement for the world's richest man?"
A third championed FSD and concluded: "There will come a day where driving a car manually is illegal because it's a safety hazard." Elon Musk even responded to Rogan with a typically simplistic response of, "Cool."
There have been concerns about the viability of FSD technology, with various reports of accidents when using FSD. The results continue to impress, although it feels like we're a long way off FSD taking over in America - especially as Tesla's popularity continues to tumble.

In California, Tesla's EV sales fell from 55.5% in 2024 to just 43.9% in the first quarter. The California New Car Dealers Association confirmed that Tesla registrations dropped by 15% while sales of other EVs have increased by 35%. Looking at the bigger picture, the association added: "An aging product lineup and backlash against Elon Musk’s political initiatives are likely key factors for the decline in Tesla BEV market share."
Still, with Musk staying firmly at the helm of Tesla, it looks like he'll keep trying to steer it toward an FSD future.
