A new smartphone appears set to seriously rival the iPhone with its insane new camera feature.
For years, the likes of iPhone and Samsung have dominated the tech industry but could that all be about to change?
Enter the Magic8 Pro, a brand new model debuted by Chinese tech firm HONOR which was released earlier this month.
New features claim to change the game for night photography
We all know that getting the perfect shot at night or in low light can come with additional challenges.
However, the new HONOR device comes with a series of features, with the focus being its industry leading camera.

Its 200MP Ultra Night Telephoto Camera enables high resolution night shots and the large, 1/1.4” sensor size and f/2.6 aperture allows as much light as possible into the shot.
It comes with an improved shake detection and is able to capture crisp images even when using the 100x zoom.
HONOR claims to beat out the competition when it comes to quality in its night photography by showing comparisons with the likes of Samsung and iPhone.
AI features in the Magic8 Pro
A major focus for all industry giants in recent years has been artificial intelligence and the Magic8 Pro is no different, with numerous features focussing heavily on AI integration.

The device comes with additions such as AI Deepfake Detection, Magic Portal and AI Voice Cloning Detection.
The deepfake detection works by using AI that is trained through a large dataset of videos and images in order to examine the media on your phone frame-by-frame.

If the device detects a deep fake, it will alert you at the top of your screen with a message that reads: “Suspected AI face swap detected.”

Meanwhile, the AI Voice Cloning Detection is designed to protect users from scams that use synthesized or cloned voices.
When the device detects that voice cloning is being used, it will alert the user.
Last year, the company unveiled a ‘robot phone’, which was first announced during HONOR’s Magic8 series launch event in Beijing, China.
The new phone has been described as having integrated ‘AI-powered multi-modal intelligence, robotic functionality, and advanced handheld imaging capabilities’.

In a video teasing the robot phone, it detailed the evolution of mobile devices, claiming it has gone from ‘phone’, to ‘iPhone’, to ‘AI phone’, and now ‘robot phone’.
While not much is known about the new device, more detailed information is expected to be released in March at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain.
