Bose just made their elite noise-cancellation available for $99
Bose is bringing one of its best-known headphone features to a much cheaper format, priced at just $99.
The audio firm announced a new pair of wired USB-C earbuds which gives listeners a way to get active noise cancellation without having to charge another device.
Unlike wireless earbuds, the new Bose pair goes back to basics and doesn’t have its own battery, instead getting its power directly from the phone, tablet or computer it's connected to through USB-C.
This could make them an appealing option for anyone who is tired of constantly having to make sure their wireless devices are charged up.

According to Bose, the wired earbuds offer customers ‘throwback vibes’ as well as ‘the latest Bose signature sound, and renowned noise cancellation to elevate your everyday listening’.
The company continues: “Just plug, play, and get instant, effortless access to your top songs. No charging needed. Whether commuting or creating content, connect to a range of devices via USB-C and get the crisp, clear audio performance you expect from Bose.”

Despite being significantly more costly than Apple’s wired EarPods alternative, the Bose versions come with something Apple doesn’t - active noise cancellation.
Bose goes on to state: “There’s also Bose QuietControl noise cancellation to reduce unwanted sounds while you listen - rare for wired earbuds. Control the music and take calls with the inline remote and microphone.
“And multiple sizes of ear tips and stability wings provide plenty of options for finding a fit that stays comfy all day. When you’re done listening, the included carry case lets you protect the buds when you toss them in your bag.”

The active noise cancellation feature uses microphones and processing to reduce unwanted sounds around the listener.
But the biggest advantage of the earbuds is also the simplest - there is no charging case to remember, no separate battery to monitor and no Bluetooth connection to worry about. As long as the device you’re using has enough power, the earbuds can keep playing for as long as you want them to.
This could end up being particularly useful for anyone who uses headphones for long stretches or simply doesn’t want another gadget that needs to be charged every night.
The new earbuds are available to preorder from Bose from September 28, with shipping due to begin on October 15. They will come in three colors and cost $99.
