The prospective success of attempted by the US government to take over Greenland could lead to the beginning of 'the end of the world' according to one key Russian official, as he issues a warning for the future of nuclear warfare.
It's clear that the US government and President Donald Trump are determined to gain control over Greenland in the near future, even if that means using the 'hard way' according to the latter's own worrying response.
While you could argue that it's part of America's empirical aspirations to gain control of another country, Greenland's geographical location afford it a key role in future trade routes and even the prospect of global warfare, and in annexing the nation from the Kingdom of Denmark, America would gain a potentially significant upper hand.
Understandably both the government and population of Greenland have remained firm in resisting the advances of United States officials, as both Premier Nielsen and foreign minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen have asserted their desire to remain alongside Denmark.

Following a discussion with Vice President JD Vance, Rasmussen illustrated that "it's clear that the president has this wish of conquering Greenland. And we made it very, very clear that this is not in the interest of the kingdom."
One other major nation that's expressed its opposition to a US-controlled Greenland is Russia, as a former official has declared that it could lead to the 'end of the world', as per UNILAD.
Dmitry Rogozin, former deputy prime minister and head of the Russian Space Agency, theorized that Greenland will play a key role in America's plans for a 'Golden Dome' missile defense system, which would merge 'space, AI, and a layered architecture' into a 'single system'.

Explaining his reasoning, Rogozin detailed: "Orbital sensors, ground interceptors, decision-making algorithms — all this requires advantageous geography. Greenland, with its Arctic position, proximity to Russia, and convenience for northern ICBM trajectories, fits perfectly into this architecture."
He added that "this is the dismantling of the entire system of strategic stability in the world that has prevented the use of nuclear weapons since 1945," warning that it could prompt the "beginning of the end of the world."
Many have feared that continued tensions between the United States, Russia, and China is leading the world into an inevitable conflict, and taking control of Greenland could be everything that America needs to finally press the big red button without fear of retalliation.
