Warning: This article contains discussion of gambling which some readers may find distressing.

A plane passenger bought every scratch card on a budget airline flight and the result is shocking.

Sometimes when you're on holiday, you might splurge a bit too much on an extra bottle of duty-free booze or a random souvenir that'll collect dust on a shelf. But one man took impulse buying to an entirely different level, purchasing every single scratch card on a Ryanair flight in the hope of hitting the jackpot.

In a viral TikTok video, Vik (known as Vikkstar), showed his friend Ethan buying a whopping 100 scratch cards on a Ryanair flight.

"We are here on Ryanair and this man Ethan has bought every single scratch card on the flight," Vik said in the video. "I've opened about 100 scratch cards. I've been opening these one at a time.

He noted: "We have not won a single thing. We have won nothing - no one has won anything. I'll keep you guys posted."

A 2016 report (via The Sun) revealed how Ryanair's scratch card system actually works. Anyone who hits the jackpot is entered into a separate draw for a shot at the €1 million grand prize. From there, the winner has to pick one envelope out of 125 and only a single envelope holds the grand prize.

The odds of winning the jackpot? Reportedly, about 1.2 billion to one. Meanwhile, winning the Lotto is said to be 45 million to one. The air crew said that Vik and his friends bought 68 scratch card packs with other passengers helping to work through them, but to no avail.

"No one won anything," a passenger shouted across the plane.

Vik added in the TikTok: "You're supposed to match three - I can't even match two. We've lost again."

The clip has racked up thousands of times with over 300k likes. Viewers in the comments were quick to express their shock.

"is that even legal not to win," one user wrote.

Another replied: "100% they won't allow mass buying on the flight again lol".

A third user added: "If this is real it needs to be investigated tbf because that's just crazy to not get any wins after all those".

A fourth user chimed in with their own experience, sharing: "We used to buy lotto scratch cards for 200 staff at work and the same thing happened, no one ever won!!! something's not right".
