Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin has issued a warning that there are more ‘bombshells’ to come following the late night show being axed from the air.
Last week, it was announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be indefinitely suspended by ABC after comments Kimmel had made following Charlie Kirk’s death.
During his monologue last Monday (September 15), Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
The following night on his show, Kimmel remarked: “Many in Maga-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

A spokesperson for ABC, which is a network owned by Disney, confirmed that the show would be ‘pre-empted’, meaning another show will be broadcasted in its place and fans began to boycott Disney in reaction.

Since then, it has been announced that the late night show will be returning to our screens, but more ‘bombshells’ are yet to be revealed, according to Sal Iacono.
Iacono is Kimmel’s cousin and longtime collaborator appeared on the Bill Simmons Podcast where he shared that he didn’t want to say too much as there are staff members who could still lose their jobs but mentioned: “I wish I could say anything. There are a couple bombshells still there. I’m feeling good. We’re going to be all right. Everything’s going to be just fine.”

Talking about Kimmel, Iacono added: “He’ll be fine, whatever he wants to do. He might just want to be a pop-up chef and start making barbecue around the South Bay. He’ll do a great job.”
Many people in the industry have spoken out in defence of Kimmel, with Stephen Colbert being hailed for the ‘most powerful moment in late-night comedy’.
Talking about the issue on his own late night show, he said: “I’m your host Stephen Colbert but tonight, we are all Jimmy Kimmel.”

During his opening monologue, Colbert referred to the suspension as ‘blatant censorship’ and described President Donald Trump as an ‘autocrat’.
He continued: “If ABC thinks that this is gonna satisfy the regime, they are woefully naive.”
Colbert went on to say: “To Jimmy, just let me say, I stand with you and your staff 100%.”
Colbert was praised online for his words, with one user writing on X, formerly Twitter: “Stephen Colbert's opening tonight will forever be remembered as one of the most powerful moments of late-night comedy in modern history. This is a must-watch. Damn.”
