A Marvel star is encouraging the Disney boycott following Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension over his Charlie Kirk comments.
The late night host saw his show indefinitely suspended this week by ABC after the comments he made following Kirk’s death.
During his monologue on Monday (September 15), Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
The following night on his show, Kimmel remarked: “Many in Maga-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

Since then, it was announced that Kimmel’s show has been suspended from broadcast indefinitely, with a spokesperson for ABC, which is a network owned by Disney, confirming that the show will be ‘pre-empted’, meaning another show will be broadcasted in its place.
Since then, fans have begun to boycott Disney by canceling their subscriptions to its streaming service.
Marvel actress Tatiana Maslany, who stars in the Disney+ miniseries She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has shared her thoughts, backing the boycott.

Taking to social media, Maslany shared a photo of herself on set with the caption reading: “Cancel your @disneyplus @hulu @espn subscriptions!”
Other people in the industry have also voiced their support for Kimmel including Damon Lindelof, who was a producer and writer of the series Lost, who said: “I was shocked, saddened and infuriated by yesterday’s suspension and look forward to it being lifted soon. If it isn’t, I can’t in good conscience work for the company that imposed it.”

Jean Smart who stars in Hacks wrote: “I am horrified at the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel Live. What Jimmy said was FREE speech, not hate speech.

“People seem to only want to protect free speech when it suits THEIR agenda. Though I didn’t agree at ALL with Charlie Kirk; his shooting death sickened me; and should have sickened any decent human being. What is happening to our country?”
President Donald Trump took to his own social media platform Truth Social to react to the news, writing: “Great News for America. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”
Kirk’s funeral is set to take place this Sunday (September 21), at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, with Trump confirming that he will be in attendance.
