Jake Paul is pursuing legal action against Piers Morgan days after storming off a live show.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer secured his 12th professional victory in a unanimous decision against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
The fight took place in Anaheim on Saturday night, extending Paul's record to 12-1 and marking his first bout since the highly controversial match against 58-year-old Mike Tyson. The former YouTuber has been steadily building his reputation as a serious boxer since he left the influencer world behind in 2020.
However, like many of Paul's previous fights, this victory didn't come without heavy criticism.

Many notable figures in the media claimed the bout was 'fixed' or rigged in Paul's favour. But none were perhaps as firm as Piers Morgan, who interviewed Paul ahead of the match.
The prominent English media personality called Paul's latest win an 'unwatchable farce' and suggested the fight was rigged. Morgan also accused him of 'killing boxing'.
Just a few days prior to the bout, Paul appeared on Morgan's show Piers Morgan Uncensored for what was supposed to be a standard promotional interview. Instead, it turned into a dramatic confrontation that led to Paul storming off set after calling Morgan a 'fat a**.'
"I had a better fight with Jake Paul on Thursday than the unwatchable farce that took place tonight," Morgan wrote on X. "The guy’s lining his pockets with buckets of $$$$ - but he’s killing boxing with this boring staged bulls*** against older fighters way past their prime."

Now, the 28-year-old has ordered his team to 'vigorously go after' Morgan and pursue legal action.
"After years of letting it slide as just “haters being haters”, I have asked my team to vigorously go after anyone who makes up lies about my boxing career. Expect to get served you pigs," Paul wrote.
The boxer's business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, provided more detailed legal reasoning for their potential lawsuit, calling Morgan's accusations 'baseless and irresponsible'.
"Last night’s fight vs. Chavez Jr. was a fully sanctioned 10-round cruiserweight bout, officiated by the California State Athletic Commission with official judges," Bidarian wrote on X. "No staging / rigging —just hard work and a legit win. To say otherwise not only undermines the integrity of the sport, but is defamatory and causes reputational damage to MVP, Jake Paul, and the Commission.

He added: "Enough is enough. We will be exploring all options, including legal action, to hold accountable those spreading such deliberate and harmful lies."
