There are certain ways to get into a secretive dating app that Jennifer Lopez has claimed she would never ever join.

The Raya app is an exclusive dating site often used by celebrities on the hunt for love.

There have been numerous success stories including US olympian Simone Biles who met her husband, Jonathan Owens, on the app, as well as comedian Amy Schumer, who found her future husband on Raya.

But it seems like online dating isn’t for everyone, with Lopez stating that she would never use Raya, despite her ex-husband Ben Affleck reportedly being spotted on it.

During an appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show on Wednesday (October 15), she was asked by the host if she would ever ‘go on Raya’.

In response, Lopez said: “No, I don’t want that. I don’t know. I’m just old-fashioned, I guess.”

Stern went on to tell the Hollywood star that she will ‘have no problem meeting guys’, to which Lopez replied: “I’ll be fine.”

But how do you get on to the app if you’re not mega famous? It’s a question that many people have posed on social media as they vie for a chance to bag a superstar date.

On Reddit, one user wrote: “Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone have advice for getting on Raya? My boss has been trying to get accepted for over a year now with no luck. Does anyone have any tips or information on referrals? If anyone can help that would be great! My boss would hate me a little less if I’m able to do this for him.”

This led to some pretty detailed advice from another person, who offered a step-by-step guide on getting accepted onto the app.

They said: “Here are my tips for getting accepted (pay close attention to the last paragraph so you don’t get scammed by the folks above):

“1. I’d recommend keeping your instagram unlocked. You don’t have to but it helps. 2. If you know you’re ugly- don’t waste your time. (Not being mean but it is what it is).

“3. Make sure your instagram feed isn’t just you boasting or being fake rich- it should reflect who YOU really are.

“4. Try and get as many referrals as you can get from the start and not wait too much after you applied. I was able to get two legit referrals from Reddit and the others from connections I made at Soho House or in my network.

“5. If you already applied and have referrals, here is what I did: I applied to Raya twice.

“First in March of 2022 with no referrals. I eventually got referrals but still sat there. On Jan 17 I had Raya delete my application (you can email them). I reapplied and had my referrals attached from the start and about a week and a half later I was accepted on Feb 1 Also- You won’t get an official rejection letter if Raya doesn’t let you in. Instead, your application will likely just say “pending” or “waitlist” indefinitely.

“And lastly- Before you pay anyone on Reddit s*** for a referral, their name needs to show under “some friends who are members”. That’s how you know they are really on the app. You simply add them to your contacts and after several mins it will show up. I don’t care what else they show you or tell you. If it doesn’t show- it’s fake. Don’t pay.”
