Major streamer Hasan Piker had emotional message for his millions of followers after Charlie Kirk was shot

Trump has since announced a major update in the manhunt for the killer

Hasan Piker has given an emotional message to his millions of followers after the death of Charlie Kirk earlier this week.

The streamer is known for his political commentary on Twitch, and he reacted to the news of Kirk’s death while live.

Piker shared his shock online as it was announced that Kirk had been shot in the neck during an appearance in Utah for his ‘American Comeback’ tour.

The right-wing commentator had been addressing a 3,000-strong crowd at Utah Valley University (UVU) when gunfire could be heard on Wednesday (September 10).

Videos captured the political pundit falling from his seat after being struck in his neck.

It was later confirmed that Kirk had died from his injuries sustained in the gunshot wound.

Now, Piker has spoken out, giving an emotional message to his followers, saying: “This is the ultimate fear ... for a political commentator, this is it, this is the thing that you don't want happening; this is the thing that you never want happening.

“For the record, there are a s*** ton of people celebrating this, as well. I am not - for obvious reasons.

“This is what a lot of people fantasize happening to me all the f--king time and say they will do to me all the f***ing time.”

Piker was scheduled to face Kirk in a debate set for September 25.

Updates on the Charlie Kirk shooting

There have been new developments made today as the hunt for the suspect has continued.

This comes as President Trump spoke to the press to reveal that authorities may be closing in on the culprit.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump said: “With a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody.”

The FBI previously released new security footage to the public which showed how Kirk’s alleged shooter escaped.

The video appeared to have come from CCTV footage which shows the suspected shooter racing across the rooftop of a building close to where the incident occurred.

A source from law enforcement has also claimed that bullets found in the rifle appeared to be engraved with messages ‘of transgender and antifascist ideology’.

Vice President JD Vance flew to Utah yesterday (September 11) alongside his wife Usha Vance to transport Kirk’s casket back to his home state of Arizona with his wife Erika Kirk.

Trump told reporters that the funeral is expected to take place in Arizona next weekend.
