The rapid growth of AI in our everyday lives comes with some worries as we try to figure out what the future with it looks like.

But tech billionaire Elon Musk's outlook didn't really calm those fear.

In a recent interview, Musk sat down with Tucker Carlson to discuss the upcoming US election and what might happen if Donald Trump loses, religion, and of course, AI.

When Carlson asked Musk: “Where are we on AI right now and what are your views?” he took a moment to gather his thoughts on what he was going to say.

The Tesla CEO started off quite broadly, saying: "Well, I think at this point it's obvious to everyone that AI is advancing at a very rapid pace."

He pointed out how you can see new capabilities popping up 'every month, or even every week.'

Musk took a lot of long pauses between his response almost as if he was trying not to say too much.

He mentioned how advanced AI has become, saying it can write essays, create images, and even produce movies in just minutes - replacing the majority of human creativity.

"AI at this point can write a better essay than probably 95% of all humans," Musk continued.

"The rate at which we're increasing AI compute is hyper-exponential."

He also claimed that AI was improving both 'quantitively and qualitatively.'

On the topic of AI safety, he stressed the need for a 'maximum truth-seeking AI' referencing the book 2001: A Space Odyssey to emphasise that we shouldn’t force AI to lie.

Musk then touched on the problem with today's AI, specifically Google's Gemini chatbot that hit headlines earlier this year.

In fact, Musk explained that AI today is being programmed with the 'woke mind virus' in that historical facts are being altered to fit social norms - making them factually incorrect.

The viral video has received over 23 million views after being shared exclusively on X yesterday (7 October).

Viewers picked up on Musk's body language in the interview and believe he is hiding a lot more than he is giving.

"The way Elons body language was when asked about AI makes me think he knows something sinister about the future of AI," wrote one user.

In response, another user pointed out: "Elon has consistently called AI humanities biggest existential threat."

Others praised the insightful interview on X, writing: "Great conversation, great energy, IMPORTANT topics" and "Unbelievable interview. Thanks, Tucker."
