Elon Musk seemingly hints at controversial 'sex robots' that could increase birthrates.
The Tesla CEO has been calling out his concerns about declining birth rates for years that could be 'the biggest problem the world will face in 20 years.'
Back in 2022, Musk took to his own platform X, writing: “Population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming... mark these words.”
Aside from fathering 14 children so far with four women, the world's richest man vows to create a 'legion of kids'.

In leaked texts, he mentioned: “To reach legion level before the apocalypse we will need to use surrogates.”
However, it now appears that he may be delegating some of that responsibility to his robots, specifically his AI chatbot, Grok, and Tesla's Optimus.
The SpaceX founder reposted on X: "Companions are now free to try on the Grok App."

When someone replied to the post saying 'gg birthrates,' implying that birth rates are finished, Musk replied: "Or maybe they get better."
The 'companions' he's referring to are AI characters that users can interact with through his xAI chatbot Grok. The recent update introduced two new characters, including a sexualised blonde anime bot called 'Ani.'
"This is pretty cool," Musk wrote on Sunday, posting a picture of Ani fully clothed, adding that 'customizable companions' would be 'coming' but didn't give a timeline.
The tech billionaire has also been promoting a male companion on the platform, describing its personality as 'inspired by Edward Cullen from Twilight and Christian Grey from 50 Shades of Grey.'

What's more, when someone else commented: "One big step closer to anime girls becoming real," Musk replied: "Optimus will enable them to become physically real."

While the tech mogul has mostly developed Optimus' capabilities to become a household cleaning bot that can dance, poach eggs and babysit your kids, it seems he has bigger plans for the humanoid to offer artificial wombs.
The launch of these AI companions marks the first time a major AI company has openly embraced sexualised AI characters.
Most industry giants like OpenAI and Google have avoided this area due to worries about reputation and potential harm to their users.
Meanwhile, smaller companies offering AI companions are currently facing significant criticism, including Character AI.

The characters run on Grok 4, the newest version of Musk's chatbot that he claimed was the world's most powerful AI model when he announced it on 9 July.
