Haunted dolls are something that most people have enough sense to stay well clear of, yet one famous comedian has willingly obtained and become the 'legal guardian' of one of the most famous spooky objects in the world in an 'insane' announcement.
Perhaps only clowns rival how well dolls are suited for horror films and stories, as their hauntingly uncanny appearance makes them the perfect vessel for an evil and vengeful spirit to take up the fight against its owners.
If you're a horror fan there's a good chance you've seen, or are at least aware of, the Annabelle films within the Conjuring Universe, as members of a satanic cult use an old doll as a paranormal conduit against their enemies.
It's understandable that most people would want to steer well clear of any real life equivalent of this film's titular character, yet one comedian has made the crazy decision to purchase the inanimate girl that inspired the movies, becoming her new 'legal guardian'.
Which comedian now owns the Annabelle doll?
As reported by the Independant, comedian Matt Rife recently announced the 'insane' news that he had purchased the real life Annabelle doll from Ed and Lorraine Warren alongside ghost hunter and YouTuber Elson Castee on his Instagram page.

"If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted," Rife wrote regarding his reason for purchasing the doll and a wider haunted collection.
"You may also know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I'm incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history.
"Ed and Lorraine Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time."
Rife also announced his plans to open up the haunted house that Annabelle currently stays in for overnight stays and tours of the Occult Museum, allowing others to experience the nightmarish history if they so dare.
How dangerous is the Annabelle doll?
While plenty of people have expressed their excitement and happiness for Rife following his announcement, others have offered their own concerns following a recent discovery that involved the potentially haunted doll.

Only recently did paranormal investigator Dan Rivera mysteriously and suddenly pass away while on a tour across the United States with the Annabelle doll, leading many to wonder whether it is actually cursed.

The doll originally came to notoriety after allegedly walking around on its own and leaving notes and 'psychic slashes' on people, as per the Guardian, and certain people believe that Rivera's death is another one of her victims.
While on his tour, Rivera did offer advice to people so that they could protect themselves from the haunting potential of the doll, suggesting that people close their eyes and imagine a halo of white light surrounding them.

There have been no official links between Rivera's death and the actions of a sentient haunted doll, but much like those who continue to believe in aliens, there are plenty of people out there who refused to be swayed for their interpretation of events.
