Charlie Kirk’s image could be printed onto 400,000 silver dollars under new House GOP proposal

Honoring Charlie Kirk could be taken to a whole new level thanks to an absurd new proposal from key Republican members of the House, as it has been suggested to place the far-right commentator's face on 400,000 silver dollar coins.

As a close ally to US President Donald Trump and a key figure in the rise of far-right politics in America, Charlie Kirk's death has caused significant mourning and commemoration across certain parts of the nation.

This has ranged from comments made by many influential individuals on social media in the immediate moments following Kirk being shot, to a memorial service that saw 70,000 in attendance, tens of thousands outside the State Farm Stadium, and many more watching live streams online.

Not everyone has been quite as quick or receptive to remember Kirk so fondly, however, as major Hollywood actors have offered their own assertions of his life and late night show host Jimmy Kimmel was even briefly suspended for mentioning the 31-year-old during a monologue.

While there have been a number of efforts made by politicians across the United States to commemorate Charlie Kirk – including one controversial move to rename a street after him in Florida – perhaps the wildest idea so far has just come out of the House of Representatives.

As reported by Fox News, Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger and Arizona Representative Abe Hamadeh have revealed plans to introduce a bill late this week which would mint 400,000 new silver dollar bills — with all of them featuring Charlie Kirk's likeness.

"Since 1892, Congress has authorized commemorative coins to celebrate and honor historic American patriots," explained Hamadeh. "He tirelessly sacrificed his time, energy, and money to save this nation for future generations.

"His life must be commemorated, and this coin will allow us to pass a reminder of his remarkable life on to generations to come."

The coin itself wouldn't just feature Kirk's face, but would also inscribe the words 'well done, good and faithful servant' on the other side, which is taken from the Book of Matthew in the Bible.

If the bill were to be passed it would make Kirk the youngest individual to have ever been placed on US currency, partly due to the rule that prevents any living individual from being commemorated this way.

While former presidents are by far the most well known faces you'll find across your dollars and cents, there have been a number of other famous figures that have been remembered this way, including Alexander Hamilton, Susan B. Anthony, and Sacagawea, with the latter's age closest to rivaling Kirk based on contentious reports.

Pfluger claimed that Kirk's presence on a special coin would be "a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic," adding that he was a "conservative titan" who "deserves permanent recognition."
