Elon Musk has reacted to Charlie Kirk’s death after the political commentator and MAGA influencer died on stage at a Utah event.
Kirk was speaking at the event yesterday (September 10) as part of his ‘American Comeback’ tour, where he was questioned on his views on various moral issues including gun control.
Just moments before the fatal shooting, Kirk was asked by an audience member: “Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last ten years?”
Kirk replied: “Counting or not counting gang violence.”

A shot could be heard immediately after and videos captured the political pundit falling from his seat after being struck in his neck.
At the time of the shooting, Kirk was sitting under a white gazebo at Utah Valley University (UVU) addressing a crowd of around 3,000 people in the outdoor event.
It was later confirmed that Kirk had died from his injuries sustained from the gunshot wound.

Many public figures have reacted to the news, with President Donald Trump taking to his own social media platform Truth Social to say: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Musk has also notably been reacting to Kirk’s death on X, formerly Twitter.
The tech mogul initially posted after the shooting: “The shot looked real bad, but I sure hope Charlie makes it somehow.”

He has also been responding to other users’ posts, with one person writing: “If I am being perfectly honest… I think I am beginning to lose the will to be tolerant.”
To which Musk replied with: “If tolerance means the end of Western Civilization, then we cannot be tolerant.”
He then went on to write: “If they won’t leave us in peace, then our choice is fight or die.”
Authorities are still searching for the shooter, who is believed to have been positioned on top of a nearby building.

Police have described the incident as an assassination but the Department of Public Safety have confirmed that the shooting is ‘still an active investigation’.
The university campus has been placed under lockdown with armed police searching door to door for the culprit.
