Did we really get the PlayStation 6 before we got GTA 6? To be honest, given the state of the world in 2025, it wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen. While we were gearing up for Rockstar Games to release the next chapter in the long-running Grand Theft Auto franchise later this year, the gaming giant confirmed our worst fears and pushed the much-anticipated automotive adventure to May 26, 2026.
Instead of the typical backlash, some are actually happy that GTA 6 is being delayed until 2026, especially if it gives Rockstar a little longer to make sure it's releasing the best version of the game it possibly can.
The developer has also attempted to win its critics back by revealing the long-awaited second GTA 6 trailer, this time focusing on male protagonist Jason, including plenty of throwbacks to the franchise's past, and blowing your minds with graphics being captured in-game.

Despite some thinking Rockstar was trying to pull the wool over our eyes with a pre-rendered trailer, it's since posted on X and confirmed that everything was a mix of PS5 gameplay and actual cutscenes.

While GTA 6 is confirmed to release on both PS5 and Xbox Series (with a hopeful PC launch too), there are allegations that it's favoring the Blue Team. As well as the trailer being captured on PS5, eagle-eyed fans think they've spotted a PlayStation console in the trailer.
Putting on their tin foil hats, some even think it's our first look at the mythical PS6. Even though we're still in the midst of the PS5 life cycle, there's been plenty of chatter about the PS6 and speculation that it could even release in 2028.

One scene has caught everyone's eye, showing off what looks like a PS5 and a discarded DualSense controller when Lucia returns home from community service. The thing is, something looks a little off.
Gamers have noted that this doesn't quite look like a PS5, and while it could be because Rockstar isn't allowed to use actual brands, others are taking the idea that it's the PS6 and running with it.
It's true that the world of GTA has plenty of imitation brands like Cluckin' Bell replacing Chick-fil-A, Sprunk parodying Sprite, and Jungle being a stand-in for Amazon, but could this really be our first glimpse of the PS6?

While it looks a lot like the PS5, it's seemingly slimmer and has a blue light down the middle. Taking to X, one person cheered: "We got a PS6 tease before #GTA6 😅😂."
Another added: "This is PS6, but you don't know it. Easter Egg. Release next year, hell yeah."
A third concluded on Reddit, saying: "Besides the fact that the trailer seemed to feature a possible PS6 and the fact that the game was running on a PS5 showing that Sony's is the preferred console of GTA 6."
Considering that GTA V has been around for 12 years and spanned three console generations, it wouldn't be out of the question that Rockstar has future-proofed itself by including the next generation of PlayStation in GTA 6. Then again, this would be a wild way to reveal your next console.
