At this point, Fallout fans are like ravenous Deathclaws, hungry for flesh and demanding more from the apocalyptic adventure. While we've had plenty of mainline entries and spin-offs to sink our teeth into since Interplay Productions released its simple RPG back in 1997, there's been something of a drought in more recent years. It's true that Fallout 76 has kept things ticking along with regular updates (and more to come), but considering it's been a decade since Fallout 4 took us back into the Wasteland, the franchise's future is looking a little barren.
We know Bethesda is busy tinkering away on he Elder Scrolls 6 before we get to Fallout 5, but with us previously getting around issues like this by handing over to Obsidian Entertainment for the beloved Fallout: New Vegas, there are questions about why Microsoft seems to be sitting on one of its biggest IPs.
Amazon's critically acclaimed live-action Fallout series is taking us to New Vegas for season 2, but in terms of the long-awaited Fallout: New Vegas remake, the gaming giant isn't willing to spin the roulette wheel just yet.
What was revealed at Fallout Day 2025?
Fallout Day rolled around once again, and with it, there were high hopes that Bethesda would make some big reveals to keep gamers happy. Instead, we got a slew of underwhelming announcements and simple repackaging of older titles amid complaints of a cash grab mentality. Bethesda is no stranger to tarting up its back catalog, as we've honestly lost count of the number of times Skyrim has been rereleased. Sadly, old habits die hard as Fallout Day 2025 failed to reveal much of anything.
Eyes were rolled at the reveal of a Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition to celebrate 10 years of the game, and elsewhere, New Vegas is getting a 15th anniversary facelift with merch like a Vault Boy pin and a Victor statue.

The 30-minute presentation was rounded off with Fallout 76 getting a "Burning Springs" expansion that will include Walton Goggins' Ghoul from Amazon's TV series, as well as the show's season 2 cast popping by to say hello.
Taking to X, outraged Fallout fans were quick to spew their venom. One angry gamer wrote: "Fallout Day is the biggest waste of time ever 💀."
Another complained: "I'm developing an apathy for Fallout that I've only ever had for Star Wars and it's making me sad."
A third concluded: "Oh how fun, more slop for my favorite video game. I used to be a staunch BGS defender but this is just ridiculous.

"They’ve been completely mismanaged by Xbox let’s be honest. They churned out more games before the acquisition compared to now. Xbox is going to kill Bethesda if they keep this up."
Are more Fallout games on the way?

It seems Bethesda has gotten ahead of these critiques, with studio boss Todd Howard assuring us more games are coming – and we don't just mean Special Edition Extended Anniversary Supercut versions.

Trusted leakers like NatetheHate have been banging the drum about a mythical Fallout 3 remaster, and with the OG coming out in 2008, it's more than due for some TLC. In a prerecorded video, Howard assured disgruntled gamers that other titles are in the works: "Even though I am recording this — it’s not live — and I’m probably watching myself right now from my desk and I’m reading your chat and these… that thing you want and this other thing you want… Hey, we read it all. Just know we are working on even more. We are looking forward to the day when we can share that with everybody."
Still, there's no timeframe on when these mystery titles could release. Also, with both Fallout 4 and New Vegas celebrating such big milestones in 2025, it feels like a missed trick that they're simply being tarted up amid accusations that Bethesda is milking them.
