A luggage must-have that works ‘flawlessly’ with a popular iPhone app has been lauded by travelers who say they ‘can’t be without’ it - and its currently on sale for Black Friday.

For many holidaymakers, being without their luggage when they touch down in a foreign country is a serious fear.

US airlines lose up to two million suitcases a year, according to statistics published by NPR, with many vacationers having to go days, and sometimes even weeks without their belongings.

Those who are planning on jetting off across the United States this festive season have been advised to invest in an ingenious way to keep track of their hold bags.

Introducing Apple AirTags: currently on sale for 38 percent off the regular asking price as part of Amazon’s Black Friday bonanza.

How do Apple AirTags work?

Frequent flyers who’ve purchased AirTags through the retailer swear by sticking the gadget to their case, so they can always keep an eye on where their stuff is, even when they’re in the air.

The devices, sold in a pack of four on Amazon, use Bluetooth to highlight your bag via the 'Find My' iPhone app.

The Find My app can use sound or Precision Finding (available with iPhone 11 or newer) to guide you directly to your misplaced object.

According to Apple, the process is designed to be anonymous, encrypted, and private.

One user said the tags work ‘flawlessly’ with the app, and that they are super simple to set up to.

For a limited time, you can grab four Apple AirTags for $98.15, instead of a regular retail price of $157.83.

What are shoppers saying about Apple AirTags?

According to the Black Friday listing, more than 5,000 Amazon shoppers have snapped up the Apple AirTag package in the last month alone.

Boasting a near-perfect 4.6-star rating, the mini gadget has hundreds of positive reviews, with some users admitting they even sometimes place them on children’s rucksacks when they are on trips.

"They such a brilliant idea, easy to use, easy to set up and I can track them from my [cellphone]! I wouldn’t be without these, and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting them,” they continued.

Another happy purchaser wrote: “So easy to use when paired with an iPhone. Always lose keys so this is perfect! Tracks very fast and can be found precisely. The speakers are also very loud and is very good quality.

“Battery can be changed easily too however few scratch marks appear after long use,” they added.

Someone else commented: “Great pair of tags. Easy to set up and accurate in tracking from iPhone. Can create a sound if needed and share with another iPhone user (understandable they do not work with other make phones).”

How AirTags can help with travel anxiety

According to data published earlier this year 30 percent of domestic travelers have admitted to feeling nervous about international travel.

If you’re someone who experiences nausea at the thought of boarding an aircraft, then the AirTags could afford you some peace of mind, says psychologist Dr Daniel Glazer.

Speaking to LADbible, he claimed that a frequent ‘trigger’ of flight anxiety is the thought of your suitcase vanishing, never to reappear again.

"Watching your bag progress on the Find My map gives the prefrontal cortex real-time data, that calms the amygdala (the part of the brain that process emotions), because uncertainty is replaced by concrete information.

"Knowing that your phone will alert you if the luggage drifts off course, reinforces an internal locus of control, and reduces the cognitive load of mentally rehearsing what might go wrong."

Despite being praised by travelers, Apple AirTags aren’t just for keeping tabs on your bags.

Some people have reported sticking the Bluetooth device to their pet’s collar, while more users have said they attach the device to easily misplaced items, such as wallets, and keys.

If you don’t need four of the nifty gadget, then a single AirTag is also currently reduced on Amazon.

You can also purchase them in packs of two and three.
