iPhone users beg for one feature we 'desperately need' instead of Liquid Glass

The handy feature would simplify adjusting individual app volume settings

iPhone users are begging for one particular feature that they ‘desperately need’ instead of Liquid Glass.

Last month, Apple unveiled its new software design that it said will make ‘apps and system experiences more expressive and delightful while being instantly familiar’.

Crafted with a new material referred to as Liquid Glass, the translucent material is said to ‘reflect and refract its surroundings, while dynamically transforming to help bring greater focus to content, delivering a new level of vitality across controls, navigation, app icons, widgets, and more’.

However, it seems like iPhone users aren’t too enthused about the new software and instead have called for a different feature to be included in the upcoming iOS 26 update.

Taking to social media to share their thoughts on the matter, one user wrote on Reddit: “Instead of liquid ass, we desperately need this.”

In the post, they included a mock image of an iPhone screen with customized volume settings depending on the app.

For example, calls and alarms were set to a high volume whereas media and notifications were kept quieter.

Many people responded to the pic, with one user saying: “Yes I need this too but It's a lost cause. Apple took 15 years to introduce a pause video recording feature.”

Another wrote: “iOS definitely needs this but MacOS needs it even more! I don’t want a third party app just so I can set different volumes for different apps. It's such a basic functionality that would probably take an intern a few days to implement and would mean so much to many users.

“So I agree with the sentiment, maybe it would be better if they stopped with the pointless UI redesigns year to year and focus on bringing all the basic functionalities other OS have had for decades.”

A third commented: “Mine is on silent mode 99% of the time because of that.”

And a fourth person added: “Yes! Genius. I would love to have this in the control panel.”

In other news, there is a little-known iPhone hack that is being widely shared and it has the potential to massively extend your device’s battery life.

To get a bit more juice out of your iPhone before it dies, all you need to do is make sure to turn it face down when it’s not in your pocket or bag.

Each time your phone lights up the screen, it uses a little bit of power, meaning your device will lose battery power quicker.

Instead, it’s best to keep the phone face down in order to avoid it.
