Apple users have expressed their disappointment after tipsters leaked the new battery life of the rumored ‘iPhone Air’.
This comes after it was leaked that the iPhone 17 Air will allegedly have a limited battery capacity of 2,800 mAh.
And it looks like Apple fans aren’t too happy about the news, with many taking to social media to share their own thoughts on the matter.
On Reddit, one user wrote: “Can I have the exact opposite of this? give me a phone that has 3x the battery.”

Another said: “And they thought Samsung’s thin S25 Edge phone had a small battery at 3900 mAh…”
A third commented: “This isn’t for me but I hope the battery optimization software makes up for it (and that it similarly helps the other models too).”
And a fourth person added: “Battery capacity isn't the same as longevity. They may put a more efficient processor in it, they may under-clock it, and the software may really be that much more efficient (like the article indicates). You have to look at the total package when you consider it a good or bad thing.”

There has been a buzz around the rumored iPhone 17 Air, with people expecting it to drop in September.
According to a report by MacRumors, internal testing by Apple ‘determined that the percentage of users who will be able to use the iPhone 17 Air for a full day without needing to recharge the device throughout the day will be between 60% and 70%’.
To combat this issue, it has been reported that the tech giant has plans to also release a battery case as an accessory for the device.
This will protect the iPhone as well as giving the phone some additional battery life.

In other news, Apple has also been rumored to be borrowing some inspiration from Samsung with alleged plans to create a new foldable iPhone.
It was first reported back in February of this year that Apple had its own design of folding screens but according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant doesn’t plan to use it.

In Kuo’s blog, the expert explained: “My latest industry survey indicates that Apple is expected to adopt SDC’s (Samsung Display) crease-free display solution—rather than its own design—to ensure stable mass production of the foldable iPhone in 2H26.

“This decision will benefit suppliers closely aligned with SDC, with Fine M-Tec, a supplier of display metal plates (also referred to as internal hinges), emerging as the leading beneficiary.”
By using the Samsung design, Apple will be able to ensure a roll out of the foldable iPhone by the second half of 2026, claims Kuo.
