Having a tech billionaire as your father might seem like a pretty sweet deal, but just because you're a Musk, Jobs, Gates, Zuckerberg, Buffett, or Bezos, don't count on sitting sweet on daddy's fortune.
One person who can vouch for this is Eve Jobs, with the youngest daughter of the late Apple founder apparently not inheriting a cent from Steve Jobs' massive multi-billion-dollar fortune. Jobs' tragic passing shook the tech world in 2011, and after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, he initially refused treatment as he opted for alternative medicines – a decision that he supposedly regretted later in life.
He served as Apple CEO until August 24, 2011, emotionally telling the world: "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."
Sadly, Jobs died just a few months later, passing away surrounded by his wife, children, and sisters. According to his sister, Mona Simpson, Job's final words were, "'Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow."

Jobs had four children, with one to Chrisann Brennan and three to Laurene Powell Jobs. Eve Jobs is the youngest of the brood, and although her father left behind around $10.2 billion, she'll get nothing.

Eve Jobs was recently in the news for people only just learning her name, as well as her stunning with her striking looks at Milan Fashion Week.
At the time of writing, Forbes reports that Laurene Powell Jobs' net worth is $13.2 billion, although her three children are set to get none of that when she passes.

Speaking to the New York Times in 2020, Powell Jobs confirmed: It’s not right for individuals to accumulate a massive amount of wealth that’s equivalent to millions and millions of other people combined.”
Still, she wasn't apologetic for her wealth, adding: "I inherited my wealth from my husband, who didn’t care about the accumulation of wealth.
“I am doing this in honor of his work, and I’ve dedicated my life to doing the very best I can to distribute it effectively, in ways that lift up individuals and communities in a sustainable way."
It sounds like the Jobs dynasty is okay with their mother's decision, as Laurene concluded: "I’m not interested in legacy wealth buildings, and my children know that. Steve wasn’t interested in that. If I live long enough, it ends with me."
It's a similar playbook to Bill Gates, with the fellow tech billionaire stating that his children will only receive $10 million each when he passes. Gates has been open about wanting to give away almost all of his wealth, famously founding The Giving Pledge alongside Warren Buffett.

Don't feel too bad for Eve Jobs, as she famously threw a lavish wedding in July 2025, marrying Olympian Harry Charles at a ceremony that apparently had a budget of $6.7 million. The exclusive guest list included Kamala Harris, Bruce Springsteen's daughter, one of Gates' daughters, and Kourtney Kardashian. If that wasn't enough, how about reportedly splashing $1.3 million for a rendition from Elton John?
Even though Eve Jobs might not be getting any of her father's fortune, he still had high hopes for her. Speaking with Walter Isaacson for his biography, Jobs concluded: "She’s a pistol and has the strongest will of any kid I’ve ever met."
Tim Cook might be the current Apple CEO, but according to Isaacson, Steve Jobs had high hopes that Eve would one day take that position, or maybe even become President of the United States.
