Fans of Squid Game have been left furious after binge-watching the latest season.

Viewers have been eagerly awaiting the second season of the Netflix show after the first one aired back in 2021.

The South Korean dystopian thriller follows a secret competition played by 456 participants.

Each person taking part in the game is facing serious financial hardship and risks their lives to play deadly children’s games in the hopes of taking home a life changing prize fund.

The first season received worldwide recognition and critical acclaim after its release over three years ago.

Since then, fans have been waiting for the second instalment, which finally dropped on December 26 2024.

The third and final season was filmed straight after the second and is expected to be released next year.

However, not everyone was pleased with how the second season ended and many took to social media to share their frustration.

Fair warning, there are some spoilers ahead.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one user wrote: “Me after watching #SquidGame2 ending at the cliffhanger and wasting 7 hours of my time only to get nothing in return.”

Along with the post, the user shared a GIF from the show which depicts a character angrily stomped on packets of bread rolls.

Another person replied with: “I love cliffhangers but this was a poorly executed one because no answers were given about anything.”

A third commented: “I’m hearing not so good things about this season. Especially the ending. I’m hearing that people are angry about a cliffhanger ending or that the ending was just completely disappointing. Probably should’ve stuck with one season.”

A fourth said: “REAL, actually thought that the actual episode is the ep 7 I was so mad while watching ep 6 bc that's when I realized that the last ep is not enough for everything that’s happening.”

A fifth complained: “I want my 7 hours back cause I’m not waiting another year for S3.”

And a sixth user added: “They took every possible opportunity to stretch the runtime enough to get to this episode count just so they could have a ‘season 3’.”

However, some fans of the show defended Squid Game and how the second season played out.

One person argued: “Yall are miserable people... This is a good show and the notion that they shouldn't make money is crazy... there's 9+ fast and furious movies get over yourself!”
