With the streaming wars still well underway, it seems like no one will ever be able to topple Netflix from its throne. Still, that doesn't stop the likes of Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Disney+ from pumping out their own eclectic catalogs of original shows and movies.
While Disney+ largely has the superhero genre cornered thanks to its ownership of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Amazon is hot on its heels with an impressive roster of more adult comic book capers.
The MCU is mostly constrained by its family-friendly image, but when it comes to Prime Video, it dives deeply into the R-rated nature of The Boys and Invincible. We already know Eric Kripke's The Boys is coming back for a fifth (and final) season, but there are also spin-offs in the form of Gen V season 2, The Boys: Mexico, and the Vought Rising prequel series.
As the Boysverse continues to grow, it looks like Invincible is far from done with Amazon yet.

Based on Robert "The Walking Dead" Kirkman's comic book of the same name, Invincible is one of Amazon's best-loved shows. Starring The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun as the titular Invincible, the series follows Mark Grayson as he struggles to live up to the legacy of his father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons).
Season 3 played out as a multiversal adventure at the start of 2025, although a season 4 renewal had already been locked in back in June 2024.
While we hopefully won't have to wait as long for season 4, fans are rejoicing as the streaming giant has just renewed Invincible for season 5.

The news shouldn't be too surprising, as while promoting season 3, Kirkman explained how he and Skybound Entertainment want to release new seasons every year until all 144 issues of his comic book have played out in animated form.
Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, the creator also teased how he sees Invincible sticking around for eight seasons...if Amazon lets him.
Considering Invincible has an almost unheard-of 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes, you can bet that fans are happy that more episodes are on the way. In particular, season 3 is seen as a high point, boasting a 100% critic and 93% audience score.
Responding to the news of Invincible season 5, one fan cheered: "Imagine announcing something we all already knew and it still breaks the internet 😭 y’all i’m losing ittt, i literally can’t wait now omg."

Another added: "Peakvincible. I can’t wait."
A third concluded: "The fact that Invincible didn't get an Emmy nom, while they still continue to nominate freaking Simpsons and the weakest season of Love Death and Robots yet, is a freaking joke. Just look at this cast."
Even if we get Kirkman's eight-season plan, this likely won't be the end of the story. We've already had the Invincible: Atom Eve prequel spin-off, while Kirkman has reiterated that an unrelated live-action movie is also still in development. Considering there have been numerous comic book spin-offs focusing on the likes of the Guardians of the Globe and Battle Beast, audiences are expecting Invincible's cartoon world to expand much like The Boys has on Amazon.
