At least there would be no noisy neighbors

One YouTuber decided to make the gargantuan journey to the 'most remote' hotel in the United States, and it took him nearly 24 hours, four separate flights, and nearly 4,000 miles to do so.

If there's one thing you can rely on YouTubers to provide its videos sharing some of the world's most fascinating places, and many of these tend to be remote or abandoned too.

Everything from 'ghost cities' and towns designed to mimic other places across the world to 'cursed' hospitals and the northernmost parts of America have been explored by creators to varying degrees of success, and the process often reveals areas that you would have otherwise had no idea existed.

One of the most intriguing recent versions of this came from Tonio Guajardo, who is known for sharing wild location-based challenges with his 400,000 plus subscribers, including the worst rated restaurants and America's dingiest motels.

This recent jaunt saw him travel all the way to the 'most isolated hotel' in America, which was certainly an ordeal for him to get to, let alone enjoy once he completely the arduous journey over 20 hours later.

It took four separate flights to get there, stopping at Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Anchorage – Alaska's largest city – but he eventually made his way to Dutch Harbor in the city of Unalaska, which is one of the most remote areas in all of America.

This didn't come without its dangers though, as many people in Anchorage were happy to point out the threat of plane crashes, which he was reminded of upon his landing when a destroyed flight was sitting right on the edge of the runway.

"Having the dead relics of old planes at the runway is hella diabolical," wrote one comment in a fit of laughter, adding that "this could have been you, but it wasn't."

Once he finally made it to Unalaska though he checked into the Grand Aleutian Hotel, which has over 125 different guest rooms but is more likely to feel rather empty most of the time.

The rooms themselves were relatively 'normal', complete with everything you'd expect including a smart TV, but Tonio was greeted by a jaw-dropping view when he looked out of the window, and was even able to see a bald eagle and seals mere meters away from the hotel grounds.

One of the main reasons for his trip was to replace a toy airplane that was a favorite of his son's – something he only achieved right before he left – but he did manage to take a trip up one of the island's mountains for another spectacular view.

The hotel restaurant was surprisingly fancy considering the lack of guests, and he was able to enjoy a pair of king crab legs which were apparently delicious, although came in at a cost of $86 which is notably harder to stomach.

There's no doubt that The Grand Aleutian is a great place to stay, but considering the proximity of Unalaska it's unlikely that any of us will ever get the chance to try it out unless you too have the same sense of adventure as Tonio.
