YouTuber content creator Tayta Games has died at 21, after the news was confirmed by her father.

Tayta Games, whose real name is La’tayvia Deshay Ransom, passed away just nine days before her 22nd birthday after being diagnosed with colon cancer, which later spread to her liver.

In a post confirming her death on September 17, Tayta’s father wrote: “My Oldest daughter passed this morning.

“My baby had colon cancer that spread to her liver. La’tayvia Deshay Ransom would have been 22 years old in nine days. I’ve been doing two-a-days at the hospital for the past week, praying for the best. Talking to her made me so optimistic. I just can’t believe I lost my child.”

Her brothers also shared a video which was posted onto Tayta’s YouTube channel which broke the news as well, explaining that they were ‘lost for words’ over her passing.

Many viewers took to the YouTube comment section to share their condolences to the family, with one user writing: “This sh** don’t feel real y’all fr…”

Another said: “The fact that she didn’t go through chemo so y’all’s family wouldn’t go in debt just shows the type of person she was caring and loving rest in power Tayta.”

A third person commented: “I’m a silent watcher who never comments but I kid you not.. I’m absolutely in shambles over this. It’s easy to say “you didn’t even know her irl” but the impact she had on me and many others was incredible.

“She completely changed the trajectory of gaming commentary for me. She made it engaging asf and I know she loved us deeply. We love you Tayta!! I’m sorry the healthcare system failed you love. But even through this whole process you still tried your absolute best to be here for us.”

And a fourth added: “Tayta will always be the MOST unique gaming creator of her time. There was no one else like her. I was so happy to have found her, she reignited my love for minecraft and i loved watching her. She was such a light in this world and i know she is still shining bright in the sky at night.”

The gaming creator had a following of over a million people across her platforms on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok where she was known for her comedic videos while playing video games.

Tayta’s twin brother posted a tribute to her on Instagram where he described her as the ‘sweetest’ and ‘funniest’ person.
