Man fired from his job after shocking comments he made on viral YouTube show

The internet never forgets

By now, we should all know that we need to watch what we say online, because even if you delete something, someone on the internet will likely have it saved somewhere.

One man has seemingly found out the ultimate price of "chat sh*t, get hit," claiming he's been fired after sharing his views on a viral YouTube series.

Saying he aired his 'traditional' right-wing views, the man who identifies himself as 'Connor' is now asking for donations after appearing on the popular Jubilee channel and the 'Surrounded' video series.

Drumming up plenty of controversy and often going viral on YouTube, 'Surrounded' typically involves a prominent figure or individual facing off against up to 25 people who have opposing views.

Topics debated include the likes of vaccines, transgender rights, and abortion, with guests including the controversial Jordan Peterson versus 20 atheists and the equally controversial Candace Owens versus 20 feminists.

As reported by the Daily Beast, British American journalist Medhi Hasan had to debate 20 'far-right conservatives', with things getting heated while he faced off against Connor. Hasan hosted a show on MSNBC from February 2021 until January 2024, and didn't hold back as Connor went on his rant.

When Hasan said President Donald Trump is "defying the Constitution," Connor replied by quoting the words of Nazi Party political philosopher Carl Schmitt.

Asking Connor whether he's a fan of Nazis, the latter said: "I, frankly, don’t care being called a Nazi at all."

Elsewhere, Connor maintains that the Catholic church has persecuted Nazis 'a little bit'. When Hasan asked about the Nazis' persecution of the Jews, Connor said: "I certainly don’t support anyone’s human dignity being assaulted."

When pushed again on what happened to the Jews, he continued: "There was a little bit of persecution and stuff like that, which is bad.”

Hasan joked: "We may have to rename this show. Because you’re a little bit more than a far-right Republican."

Not seeming to mind his new label, a smiling Connor said, "Hey, what can I say?”, and added, "Yeah, I am," when asked if he was a 'fascist'. Although he got applause from the others in the debate, these statements could be something he lives to regret.

Posting on a Christian fundraising site called GiveSendGo, Connor wrote: "I’m raising money as an emergency fund and for other expenses while I look for a new job."

Although he doesn't reveal what company he was supposedly fired from, he carried on: "Unfortunately, voicing fully legal traditional right-wing political views results in real consequences. This is cancel culture and political discrimination on full display."

At the time of writing, Connor's page has raised nearly $40,000, while he's since appeared on the Rift Report podcast. Discussing the incident, Connor concluded: "Well, unfortunately, I lost my job as a result. And no one really is to blame for that.

"It’s just the culture that kind of exists currently surrounding the manner in which you’re canceled for voicing [...] any heterosexual, Christian, sort of moral belief that goes beyond sort of the secularism and the relativism that we’re so used to in our time."

Having something of a Streisand effect, searches for 'Jubilee' have leaped since Connor claimed he was fired from his job.
