WhatsApp has climbed its way to the top of the messaging hierarchy for good reason, yet many are left surprised that it's taken the company this long to add one of its users' most requested features.
If you've got a phone there's a good chance that you use WhatsApp, as the encrypted messaging service allows people to seamlessly keep in touch with the friends and family both individually and in group chats.
On the surface it's a simple but effective app, yet there are many features hidden within that make the experience better overall. Voice messaging transcription is a big one for many, as it can help make chats easier between those who don't want to type, and you can even message ChatGPT if you need an AI to answer any questions.

There has remained still one major feature that's been on the lips of countless WhatsApp users though, and it's taken until now for the company to finally listen and sort everyone out.

As reported by the Independent, iPad users will finally be able to download the WhatsApp messaging application on their tablets, ending an incredibly frustrating wait for many.
Suggestions of an iPad version arose back in 2020 when WhatsApp added support for multiple devices, yet it still took five long years for the company to provide official support for Apple's larger gadget.

iPads are frustratingly overlooked by many popular app makers, as photo-sharing social media Instagram still doesn't have an official version and it was only with the recent release of iPadOS 18 last September that Apple added calculator support.
It appears as if the iPad version of WhatsApp is a mirror image of its iPhone equivalent though which is great to see, as some were worried that there would be some key features missing.

There are even some features specific to the iPad version to make it an optimal experience, as explained in the recent blog post announcing the newly-added support:

"We've made WhatsApp for iPad ideal for multitasking so you can get more done," it explains. "Take advantage of iPadOS multitasking features such as Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over to view multiple apps at once, so you can send messages while browsing the web, or research options for a group trip while on a call together."
This could make the iPad version the best way to use WhatsApp if you're something of a power user, marking a miraculous turnaround that's bound to make Apple users feel vindicated in their incessant requests.
What's more, the company has also outlined that "this is only the start for WhatsApp on iPad," so it could suggest that further optimizations and new features could very well be on the way soon.
