Trump has continued his tirade against foreign visitors and immigration, sharing now a controversial post from a key government official calling for a US travel ban on certain countries.
Hardline immigration policies have always been a key feature of Trump's political messaging, as this goes all the way back to his first term where he pledged to 'build a wall' between the US and Mexico, alongside banning visitors from 'Muslim-majority' countries.
His second term in the White House has seen that taken to another level though, with aggressive messaging and policies that many have labelled racist and xenophobic, specifically in reference to the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the last few months.
That hasn't stopped the president from sharing inflammatory statements made by key members of his cabinet though, as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary Kristi Noem issued a dangerous suggestion on social media.

As reported by the Independent, Noem posted the following message to her X account on Monday, December 1:
"I just met with the President. I am recommending a full travel ban on every damn country that's been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.

"Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom — not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch benefits owed to AMERICANS. WE DON'T WANT THEM. NOT ONE."
President Trump shared a screenshot of this post to his Truth Social account shortly after, albeit with no caption of his own, and the official Homeland Security account added "EVERY DAMN COUNTRY" in a quoted post.
It appears as if this statement was made in connection with the recent attack on two National Guard members near the White House, of which 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, originally from a village in the Afghani province of Khost, emerged as a primary suspect.

Trump previously declared that he would "permanently pause" migration from "all third world countries" following this attack, but it's unclear when or if at all this measure will come into place, and what nations it will specifically target.
The equal ambiguity of Noem's accusation has also been called into question, as many in the replies to her post requested further clarification on which countries would be included in her 'full travel ban', with some criticizing her argument and language.
"Do you think there are no killers, leeches, and entitled junkies in America right now who are natural born, US citizens?" Questions one reply, adding: "Have you been inside American prisons? Do you know how many serial killers were born in the US? It's crazy to always blame others when you don't bother to look within."
Another pointed out: "Killers, leeches, junkies? Is this appropriate language for a politician in a first world country?"
