MrBeast is planning a real-life Hunger Games with a jaw-dropping prize.
Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson has built his YouTube empire on ambitious stunts from recreating Netflix's Squid Game to buying out entire stores for charitable causes.
His latest idea even caught the attention of the world's richest man, who jokingly offered to partake in the controversial 100 men vs. one gorilla challenge.
Now, the content creator is setting his sights on yet another huge movie concept he hopes to bring to life.

MrBeast has been developing the concept for what he calls an 'IRL Hunger Games' video for a while now.

As you might know, The Hunger Games' story is set in a dystopian future where North America has been divided into 12 districts after a failed rebellion.
As punishment, the authoritarian Capitol forces each district to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to compete in an annual televised fight to the death called the Hunger Games.
The 'tributes' are dropped into a dangerous arena filled with traps and weapons, where they must survive and eliminate other contestants until only one remains.
So, MrBeast might have quite the challenge ahead of him to create a realistic and competitive challenge while ensuring no one gets hurt.

Of course, this wouldn't be MrBeast's first massive-scale competition.
The 27-year-old's Amazon Prime series 'Beast Games' shattered viewership records when it premiered in December 2024, featuring over 1,000 contestants competing for substantial prizes.

Despite facing controversy over contestant lawsuits, various allegations and backlash over winner payouts, the show became a massive hit.

So, it's possible that a Hunger Games-inspired project isn't entirely out of reach.
After being asked about his upcoming emulation during his Today Show interview, MrBeast said: “I’ve been sitting on this idea where it’d be fun to grab potentially 26 random people, put them on an island, and – not use real weapons, maybe like laser tag or something.
"And then the last remaining one wins a million dollars to recreate Hunger Games in real life. I think that’d absolutely crush.”
This was after he humorously declared: "Obviously, we won't kill people."

Plus, shows like 'Survivor' have already proven that island settings and survival challenges can be entertaining without requiring physical combat between contestants.
While MrBeast made no concrete promises, a real-life Hunger Games competition seems to align with his track record of turning pop culture phenomena into YouTube content.
