Flat Earther left speechless after scientist proves his theory is wrong with simple analogy

Ouch, that's a burn that's hotter than the Sun

A flat Earth believer debated with a science lecturer on the Earth's shape and there was one moment in particular that was absolutely priceless.

While we're not here to bash someone's beliefs, it has been proven time and again that the Earth is round. You only have to look at planet Earth from space (unless you don't believe we've been there either) to see that it's spherical. Still, there are those who believe we could drop off the edge of the earth like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Now, one flat Earther has been disproven in spectacular style - left looking more than a little red-faced.

Dave Farina is better known under his YouTube alias of Professor Dave Explains, and with over 3.38 million subs, his promises of not 'dazzling' us with 'science-flavored edutainment' has been a hit.

Farina likes to put misinformation to bed, and in a humorous debate with flat Earther David Weiss, Professor Dave puts FlatEarthDave.com in his place.

In case the title of the video being called "'Professor Dave Humiliates Flat Earther David Weiss" didn't spoil the ending, the latter's argument soon falls apart.

According to Weiss, the only proof that the Earth is a globe comes from astronauts who most of us have never met: "You've never met these men, you don't know anything about these men other than the stories that the controllers of this world tell you."

While we'll hand it to David Weiss that he almost has an answer to everything, he thinks he can 'prove' that the Earth is flat because we can't feel it rotating: "You think that we're spinning at 1000 miles an hour, and we don't feel it? And we're changing directions?

"How is that possible? How about when the Earth comes around towards the Sun in the winter in our northern winter, it's speeding up and taking its sharpest turn, and we don't feel any of those forces?"

Professor Dave simply says, "This one is really hilarious to me," and then quickly takes the defiant (other) Dave down a peg or two.

Reminding Weiss it takes the Earth a year to revolve around the Sun, Farina suggested: "Why don't you go ahead and get in a car, and do a 360 turn and make it take a year. Are you going to feel that?"

Weiss tries to interrupt by saying that the analogy isn't fair, but is soon shot down again by Farina: "Let's break it down, 360 degrees, 365 days, that's about a degree a [day] right? Why don't you get in a car and drive for 24 hours, and over 24 hours veer by one degree. Are you going to feel that?"

While Weiss paused to try and come up with a response, the others on the Zoom call burst out laughing. Although Weiss asked Farina to 'stop being a d*ck,' it was too late and it looked like the argument was already lost.

Others in the comments were quick to jump on FlatEarthDave.com's downfall, with someone else cheering: "This guy's ability to handle being called stupid and a moron every 3 minutes is astounding."

Another added, "It's hard to win a debate with an intelligent person. It's impossible to win a debate with a dumb person," and a third joked, "The only thing a flat Earther fears is sphere itself."

Sorry David Weiss, but we've got to award that round to Professor Dave Explains.
