The human body is a fascinating piece of equipment. After all, Homo sapiens have been around for the past 300,000 years. Part of our longevity is our ability to reproduce, but it's even more fascinating that out of up to 300 million sperm ‘expelled’ in an ejaculation, only a maximum of 250 will reach the egg.

Even though life truly is a miracle, we know that not all sperm is 'used' for pregnancy. Remembering that sex sells, it really is everywhere, which has led to recent clampdowns on the adult entertainment industry.

LADbible's 'For F**k's Sake' campaign revealed that 77% of the Gen Z population will admit ot watch pornography, while 50% of men asked said it was their main source of sex education.

Away from NSFW materials, TikTok can be an unexpected fountain of knowledge in terms of educating us about the raunchier aspects of life, with one video from Dr. Boogie giving us an unexpectedly graphic look at what happens when you ingest sperm.

We previously covered the harrowing story of a man who got sick from injecting semen, but don't worry, 'drinking' it is typically seen as okay.

Answering the questions we might be too embarrassed to ask our parents during that talk about the birds and the bees, Dr. Boogie jumps straight into it by explaining what happens when sperm enters the body via a blowjob.

To keep things a little more PG, the video starts with someone drinking a glass of semen, and if you've got a weak stomach, it might be best to bail out here. Given that there was recent talk about how microplastics have been found in sperm, you also might want to think again about chugging it back.

The brutally honest video continues as we see globules of white stuff splashing down the inside of someone's body, with tadpole-esque symbols inside.

Dr. Boogie explained: "When semen is swallowed, it travels down the esophagus, just like any other swallowed fluid."

When it reaches the stomach, the semen is broken down by stomach acid and enzymes like pepsin. Pepsin is a powerful enzyme that triggers protein digestion by breaking down dietary proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids.

This deactivates sperm cells, and in case it wasn't made clear when you were taught about sex education, you can't get pregnant from swallowing semen.

As there's little fiber or bulk in sperm, the mixture moves quickly through the stomach and into the small intestine through "uneventful gastric emptying."

In the small intestine, further enzymes continue breaking it down and absorb the tiny amounts of nutrients found in the ejaculation. Those small amounts are absorbed into the bloodstream, although there's "no significant nutritional benefit or change." This means drinking semen (unsurprisingly) won't send a fullness signal to the brain.

While we're told semen is safe for most, you're reminded to always be wary of STIs, and that some people can actually be allergic.

We'll be honest that after watching that video, it might be a couple of hours before we reach for a glass of milk.
