App lets you see how much you've watched on TikTok and it's leaving people alarmed

So many hours scrolling

There's an app that can tell you all of your TikTok scrolling stats, if you so much as dare to download it...

We're all guilty of doomscrolling, and when it comes to TikTok, how many of us have looked up and realized its 3am and we've been scrolling on the platform for hours? Part of TikTok's addictive personality is that 'one more video' mentality when we just can't stop. Whether it be food recipes, the latest cool bar that's opened just around the corner, or videos of pandas rolling down hills, TikTok has it all.

Much like how Spotify Wrapped tells us what we've been listening to this year and how many hours we've sunk into the streaming service, there's a new TikTok Wrapped.

Showing off your behavior on the app, TikTok wrapped reveals the following stats:

  • Time spent watching videos
  • Number of videos watched
  • Number of watch sessions
  • Total number of likes given to others
  • Total number of comments posted to others
  • Most used emoji
  • What day of the week you use TikTok most
  • Your TikTok persona

Although it can take up to four days for TikTok to generate your data for the TikTok Wrapped, it's relatively simple after that. There are obvious worries about giving an app access to your personal data, but as TikTok Wrapped doesn't require your password, everything should be safe. The TikTok Wrapped app also adds: "We will not store or process your data on our server in any way."

"Do not ever share your passwords online and always read through the terms and conditions when using any third-party app."

Over on Reddit, one person shared their TikTok Wrapped and revealed how they'd watched 752,805 videos - saying they think they have a problem.

Accessing TikTok wrapped is easy, simply head to the official TikTok site and download your data export alongside the Wrapped for TikTok app. Then, just follow these steps

  1. Open the TikTok app and head to your profile
  2. Select Settings and Privacy
  3. Press Manage Account
  4. Tap Download your data S
  5. Select a file format and press Request data
  6. Install the Wrapped for TikTok app
  7. Upload the downloaded file
  8. Select 'Get Wrapped'

Although TikTok Wrapped has been around for a while, it seems most people don't even know that it's there. As it isn't as popular as something like Spotify Wrapped, it thankfully means our feeds aren't filled with people boasting about how many hours of Sabrina Carpenter they've been listening to this year.

We're not sure we want to know how many hours we've wasted on TikTok, and be careful if you're going to go posting something like that online. You don't want your boss to see how much time you've spent scrolling instead of doing your job.
