The tech bros are at war once again, and while you might be used to hearing about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos exchanging barbs online, it's Musk versus Altman this time around. While the X overlord has been hard at work developing his Grok chatbot, Altman is known for OpenAI and ChatGPT.

The pair have been open feuding since long before Musk offered to buy OpenAI for $97 billion, but after Altman laughed that one out of the room, he offered to buy X for just $9.7 billion.

Their issues with each other go back much further, with Altman calling Musk 'profoundly un-American' back in December 2024. It's a far cry from when they founded OpenAI together back in 2015 and vowed to save humanity as a united front.

Musk has fired shots back at Altman, branding him 'Scam Altman' in the latest chapter of their sniping saga.

Opening up old wounds, Musk has shared a video of Altman from May 16, 2023, again referring to the OpenAI CEO as Scam Altman.

Back then, the subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law hosted a hearing that was titled "Oversight of A.I.: Rules for Artificial Intelligence" and asked Altman to defend the advancements of AI.

During the hearing, Altman was asked, "Do you make a lot of money?", and responded, "No. I’m paid enough for health insurance. I have no equity in OpenAI." He then concluded, "I’m doing this because I love it."

The 'Scam Altman' insult comes after Musk branded him a 'swindler' for offering $9.7 billion for X, and in January this year, dubbed him a 'liar' following OpenAI announcing plans to abandon its non-profit structure. Altman has slung his own mud, saying, "I don't think he's a happy person," when referring to Musk.

As for the latest drama, someone responded to Musk and said: "Not going to lie…..I was super duper disappointed to see Pres. Trump parade Altman out day one. He’s pretty low."

Another added: "Looks like Sam Altman's words don't match his actions. His involvement with OpenAI raises questions about his true motives.

"Glad Elon Musk is holding him accountable, transparency is key."

Not everyone was on Elon's side, as someone else chimed in: "It's important that Musk has competitors otherwise he becomes the sole almighty technofeudalist at everyone's expense."

Another poked fun at Musk's recent email asking government workers to defend their roles, concluding: "People change - get over it. Also: what did you achieve last week?"

Don't expect Altman and Musk to be shaking hands anytime soon. In February 2024, Musk started legal action against OpenAI and filed a lawsuit claiming the AI giant has abandoned its promises of being a non-profit research lab.
