A resurfaced tweet from ChatGPT's CEO makes a spot-on prediction about Elon Musk.
The two tech billionaires have been clashing publicly on social media.
Most recently, Musk threatened to sue Apple for allegedly favouring ChatGPT over other AI models, such as his Grok platform.
This then caused OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to fire back and accuse Musk of 'manipulating X to benefit himself and his own companies and harm his competitors and people he doesn't like.'
What is Musk's and Altman's history?
Musk and Altman share a complex history that began in 2015 when they co-founded OpenAI with approximately $1 billion in funding. Their vision was developing advanced neural networks capable of human-like interaction and creative tasks.

However, their partnership was pushed to the brink when Altman advocated for a structure that would allow the organisation to raise capital while maintaining humanitarian goals.

Musk opposed the transition and eventually left OpenAI's board in 2018, later warning lawmakers about AI as an 'existential risk' to humanity.
What did Sam Altman predict?
In something that feels eerily similar to the way The Simpsons accurately predicts things like the Presidential shooting, the AI developer predicted the future over 10 years ago.

In 2014, when X was called Twitter, Altman asked: "any opinion on the odds that Elon Musk will at some point be the richest person in the world?"
He immediately followed up with: "by not trying or caring, he's probably more likely to achieve it. one of those weird things."
And would you believe it? He did.
In 2021, Musk became the world's richest person with a net worth of $185 billion, surpassing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Users have been flocking back to the old thread to admire Altman's accuracy.
"Good call!," wrote one user, whilst tagging Musk in the comment, as another remarked: "He called it in 2014!"
How did Elon Musk become the world's richest man?
Musk built his fortune through a diverse portfolio of companies including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and xAI.

While his recent role in government caused some turbulence for his companies and led to a Tesla stock decline, a bonus payout and refocus on his businesses helped maintain his position as the world's wealthiest individual.
Much of his attention recently has centred on developing Grok, which he promotes as a 'truthful' and 'uncensored' alternative to ChatGPT.
However, the South African's announcement of his newly developed Grok 'companions,' along with the so-called Baby Grok geared towards children, has raised questions from his X community.
