Elon Musk has unbothered four word response to Tesla protesters demanding 'send Musk to Mars'

Musk doesn't back away from an online spat

Things for Elon Musk have been anything but smooth sailing.

His business hit crisis mode after he stepped into a key role in President Donald Trump’s cabinet, heading up the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Since then, critics have said that Musk’s heavy political involvement is distracting him from his companies and turning them into a political symbol. Meanwhile, Tesla protestors have demanded the world's richest man distance himself from the Trump administration entirely.

Additionally, a lot of people have slammed Musk for his role in the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), overseeing mass layoffs in federal agencies and putting billions in federal grants on hold. But if there’s one thing Elon Musk doesn’t do, it's back away from an online spat. If anything, he accuses any opposition of being ignorant or acting on someone else's behalf.

Tesla protestors across the US, Canada and Europe have been boycotting the electric car company and Musk’s growing political influence. One of the more viral signs from a recent protest posted on X (formerly Twitter) read: “SEND MUSK TO MARS.”

Now, an X account shared a picture of a protester's poster that read, “SEND MUSK TO MARS" in red market. DogeDesigner, who posts about Elon Musk frequently, shared the caption: "Who exactly are they yelling at to send Musk to Mars? Pretty sure the only guy building a rocket to Mars… is Musk himself."

Not missing a chance to cause a stir, Musk replied with an unfazed four-word post on X (formerly Twitter), reading: "I’m trying, I’m trying" followed by a couple of crying-laughing emojis.

But he didn't stop there.

The tech billionaire continued the joke by sharing a Ghibli picture of himself with his son X, who was wearing a T-shirt that read 'Occupy Mars.' Of course, the rest of the X community joined in.

“yeah we will see when it happens… until then I'm only slightly impressed,” one user commented.

"Perhaps now's a good time to start a GoFundMe," another added.

"I guess you have to do it yourself,no one else can," someone else chimed in.

One Musk fan joked: “Change the name of the planet Mars to Musk. Soon, he'll build a colony on a planet under his name.”

The SpaceX founder has long shared his ambitions to colonise Mars. In leaked texts from his former girlfriend Ashley St. Clair, Musk allegedly spoke about building a 'legion' of children to help carry humanity forward. Preparing for a future that may include space colonisation or AI-driven survival is a solution Musk sees to the problem rooted in America's declining birth rates.

But how he goes about it is another story. According to St. Clair, Musk strategically recruits 'candidates' like cryptocurrency to influencer Tiffany Fong before hitting them with NDAs.
