Elon Musk has warned the public that a country with a population of 124 million people will lose nearly a million people this year.

The billionaire has been vocal about his concerns over declining birth rates in the past, even claiming that it could become ā€˜the biggest problem the world will face in 20 years’.

Back in 2022, Musk took to his own social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to write in a post saying: ā€œPopulation collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming... mark these words.ā€

And it seems like the tech mogul’s fears haven’t been eased as he wrote a new post on X on Tuesday (August 19) sharing more thoughts on the matter.

Reposting another user’s post, the tweet read: ā€œThe population isn’t ā€˜collapsing’. It has collapsed.

ā€œThe shoreline is receding and no one understands the tsunami about to hit us.

ā€œAs US population goes it will be impossible to redevelop. Automation won't replace your customers.ā€

Sharing the message with his own caption, Musk added: ā€œI’ve been warning about this since the turn of the century.ā€

Musk also recently warned that Japan will lose nearly one million people by the end of the year.

Many people took to the comment section to react to the post, with one user writing: ā€œMaybe if billionaires were not hoarding all of the wealth we would be more inclined to have more children.ā€

Another said: ā€œThe low birth rate trend is much easier to understand when women are just people. Women are people with ambitions, dreams, fears, hopes, etc. People who want to live full lives and not be relegated to just one function in life. If you want women to have more babies, make sure they can do so without giving up all their other dreams.ā€

And a third person added: ā€œThen incentivize having babies! Currently our younger generations are marrying later (if at all), and juggling the high costs of healthcare vs. the expense of buying a home. Wages aren’t supporting both options.ā€

It appears the Tesla boss might be taking matters into his own hands, fathering 14 children so far with four women.

According to the Wall Street Journal, leaked texts between Musk and MAGA influencer Ashley St Clair, who is believed to be the mother of one of his children, reveal his future plans for his family.

In the texts, he said: ā€œTo reach legion level before the apocalypse we will need to use surrogates.ā€

In military terms, a legion was a unit in the Ancient Roman army which was usually made up of around 5,000 soldiers.
