Tesla has released new footage of its Optimus robot impressively cooking dinner and doing chores.
Last week, the humanoid was busy showing off its latest dance moves, which was later slammed by social media.
But the electric car manufacturer has dropped a new video showing how its Optimus robot can help out around the house.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously claimed that Optimus could one day take on everyday tasks like 'babysit your kid, walk your dog, mow your lawn, get the groceries, just be your friend, serve drinks.'
At $20,000 each, Optimus won’t be a budget-friendly addition to your household anytime soon, though there’s talk of a possible rental option in the future.
So the future’s still a bit distant, but this new viral clip on X makes it look a little more believable.

The video, with the caption: "I’m not just dancing all day, ok" shows the robot handling a surprising number of tasks including dumping trash in a bin, cleaning food off a table with a dustpan and brush, tearing off a sheet of paper towel, stirring a pot of food and vacuuming the floor.

According to the video, the so-called 'Tesla bot' is 'learning many new tasks' after being 'instructed via natural language.'
Okay so, it’s not quite ready to run your household just yet, but the smoothness and accuracy of its movements show that Tesla is making real progress.
“One of our goals is to have Optimus learn straight from internet videos of humans doing tasks”, Optimus team boss Milan Kovac wrote after reposting the footage on X. "Those are often 3rd person views captured by random cameras etc."
He added: "We recently had a significant breakthrough along that journey, and can now transfer a big chunk of the learning directly from human videos to the bots (1st person views for now)."

Kovac claims watching internet videos of humans will help the robot learn 'new tasks much faster compared to teleoperated bot data alone.'
Musk has been hyping up Optimus since it was announced in 2021, claiming that 'thousands' of the bots may be one day deployed alongside human staff at Tesla factories, taking on 'dangerous, repetitive, [and] boring tasks.'
Viewers have been sharing their opinions, which have been a mix of excitement and mild panic.

Some are praising Tesla for their advancements, writing: "Imagine competing with Tesla on manufacturing Imagine competing with Tesla on AI.
"the bot is a race to both".
Another added: "Amazing! Love these updates. Keep them coming," while someone else pointed out: "Looks like practical usage to me."
Meanwhile, another X user replied: "This is exciting and terrifying at the same time".
