President Donald Trump’s niece has spoken out with a scathing two-word description of Elon Musk.
This comes after Musk announced that he would be officially stepping down from his role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
While not technically a government department, DOGE is purported to be an outside advisor to the president on federal spending.

And Musk has spent the last few months hacking away at the federal budget, with most of the savings being gained by canceling contracts and triggering mass layoffs.
His role in government has proven to be controversial with the billionaire facing backlash from the public.
This has included protests and boycotts of Tesla, and even acts of vandalism reported to have taken place at Tesla showrooms.

Musk was appointed to the role after forming a close friendship with Trump following his election campaign, in which the Tesla boss donated $288 million, according to a report by the Washington Post.
However, Musk is now taking a step back after he announced yesterday (May 28) that he was leaving his post in government.
Taking to his own social media platform X, formerly Twitter, the billionaire wrote: “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
“The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”

Now, the president’s niece, Mary L Trump, has weighed in with her own thoughts on the SpaceX founder.
Writing on X herself, she wrote: “In the spirit of the new Twitter algorithm which is promoting positive content, I’m positive Elon Musk is a f***ing asshole.”

This prompted a lot of replies in the comment section, with one user writing: “I support you in your positivity. Well done. Good job. Kudos.”

Another said: “I'm positive you're right.”
And a third person added: “You ain’t wrong…at all.”
Mary has been vocal about her disapproval of her uncle, with her X bio saying that she is a ‘defender of democracy’.
Mary released a book about the president and the family in 2020 titled Too Much and Never Enough.

The book was a huge success, selling almost a million copies on the first day of its release, and Mary went on to publish two more books, The Reckoning in 2021, and Who Could Ever Love You in 2024.
