There’s a lot of talk about AI taking our jobs one day in the future, replacing the art of conversation with eerie-looking humanoids carrying out our daily tasks.

But one woman recently shared her experience on TikTok getting a robotic manicure at an airport, and it turned out to be pretty good - aside from the lack of human touch.

The viral video shows user shanelle.layla putting her hand inside a robot manicure station where the machine had hold of her finger whilst it painted it a deep pink colour.

Commenting on her overall positive experience, she captioned the video: "10/10 experience i think i need it in my house".

Viewers are amazed at the robot's skills - the clip ended up racking up over 2 million likes, 9,500 comments and more than 100,000 saves.

"So this is what people who show up 2 hours before their flight do," the second user joked.

"I will take this over flying cars," wrote another.

Some saw the benefits of the futuristic technology by pointing out: "I wouldn't have to talk to anyone?! I need it."

When someone asked which airport she was at, she replied it was Las Vegas. But apparently, there are numerous airports across the US offering this service as Shanelle posted a picture showing a map of the available airports.

However, not everyone was entirely comfortable with the robot station and commented on the darker side of it all.

One remarked: "I like how it holds onto your finger, so you don't escape" and another referred to the popular horror movie franchise: "I've watched too much final destination for that".

These types of robot manicures and almost unheard of in places like the UK, the US has actually rolled out this technology at several major airports, with just one receptionist needed to provide the service.

They reportedly show you to your robot and then a touchscreen takes you through the entire appointment.

Some viewers side with the human touch of beauty specialists, this robot service only costs $10, according to Express News.

The company behind the futuristic technology is called XpresSpa, and their Clockwork MiNiCURE robotic manicures are marketed as 'quick and easy.'

But it's still probably not a good idea if you don't have a lot of time to kill at the airport in case you miss your flight.
