Who doesn't love a freebie, and thanks to PlayStation anyone who is interested in one of the biggest games to be released next month can treat themselves to a surprising taste of what's to come in the next few days.
There's never been a better time to be a frugal gamer, as you can take advantage of a number of different methods to get your hands on free games every single month.
PlayStation Plus is the best example of this, as while you do have to pay an annual fee, what you get in return is more than worth it as you can play some of the year's best releases and plenty of underrated gems for no extra cost.
Sometimes there are opportunities to play new games for free though without the need for an active PS Plus subscription, and one of the most anticipated games of the year is giving away a surprise treat for anyone who can't wait to dive into its horror-filled action.

As reported by GAMINGbible, spooky season has come early as the developers of the highly anticipated Little Nightmares III have revealed that a demo will soon be available for free, letting people get a taste of the game prior to its release.
Every year when October rolls around you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't jump into a horror game, and the upcoming release of Little Nightmares III from developer Supermassive Games is the perfect vehicle for that this year.
It's even better as the third entry into the popular series has finally added a co-op option, so you can hide behind the sofa or play with your hands over your eyes with friends and family if that floats your boat.

A keen spot by Reddit user u/thegoodgamer32 on the r/LittleNightmares subreddit has let people know that a free demo will be available for the game on September 17, although what will end up being included in this small slice is yet to be revealed.
"Now we don't know what the demo will be like, but my best guess is it will be a portion of the game that has already been shown off," the post speculates.
"It could also be the first little bit of the game, like how the demo for the 2nd game showed off the first half of the wilderness. Whatever the case is, we're still getting a demo in 1 week."

Plenty of people have shared their excitement following this news in the comments below, with some delighted that it gives them an opportunity to dive into the game for free.
While the game is just over half the price of a new big budget game at 'just' $39.97, it's still quite expensive for a lot people – especially those who usually rely on game subscription services for what they play.
Thanks to this demo you can find out whether you think it's worth the money, and hopefully it'll blow you away and leave you shivering in your boots at the scary scenes on show.
