How to claim your free PlayStation credit up for grabs throughout March

Earn points, get prizes

You can easily work your way towards a PlayStation store voucher with this month's reward options, and that could be the push you need to pick up one of the biggest new games releasing or save it for something special later on.

Constant store discounts and PlayStation Plus offers can make it easy to forget how great earning credit for free can be, and thankfully Sony have provided players with the means to passively work their way towards cash vouchers.

This is all through the PlayStation Stars program which is completely free to join - all you need to do is make sure that you've got the official PlayStation app on your phone to activate and redeem the associated rewards.

As reported by GAMINGbible, the set of rewards available in March along can set you up easily towards your next game purchase, and you barely even need to do anything.

Largely what you'll be aiming for is the $5 store credit reward, which you can pick up once you've earned 1,250 points through the program. There are also a number of full games that you can swap your points for, alongside various in-game currencies, but the $5 wallet funds gives you the flexibility to choose what you want to play.

Firstly, you can earn 50 points by activating the 'March Monthly Picks' campaign, which requires you to purchase any one of the associated games through the PlayStation store, which are as follows:

  • Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
  • Dynasty Warriors: Origins
  • Urban Myth Dissolution Center
  • Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
  • Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

The new Like a Dragon game is definitely a must play for anyone who has enjoyed the Yakuza series in the past, but if you're wanting an classic RPG experience then you might want to check out Dragon Quest.

Next up is the PS+ associated campaign, which is definitely the easiest of the lot. You can earn 50 points by simply downloading and playing any one of the following games that have been added to the subscription catalogue:

  • Return to Monkey Island
  • Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition
  • Embr
  • Nour: Play With Your Food
  • Killer Frequency

The trick here is that you don't need to play them for any real length of time, and simply booting them up is enough to earn the 50 points and move on.

Last but certainly not least is the 'As You Wish' campaign, which lets you earn 250 points by buying one of the most wishlisted games on the store right now:

  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Palworld
  • Black Myth: Wukong
  • Dead Island 2

Monster Hunter Wilds is already the most popular game of the year so far (Capcom)

You could join the 8 million players who have already picked up the latest Monster Hunter game, or if you missed the Palworld craze last year it might be a good idea to jump in and give it a try.

In total you'd be able to earn 350 points from these associated rewards, but remember that any purchases you make on the store also give you points. This works out at around 10 points per $1 spent, so buying Monster Hunter Wilds, for example, would bag you an extra 700 points.

So, if you went for Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and the latest Monster Hunter game, you'd be able to earn 1,650 points in total, which is more than you need for the $5 voucher.

Do this every single month and you could eventually work yourself towards the price of a full game - which you might need if rumors surrounding GTA 6's price are true.
