Meta might just have introduced a game-changing feature to its lineup of smart glasses, transforming how we have conversations with an impressive new update.

While Mark Zuckerberg was accused of dropping the ball with the Metaverse and splurging tens of billions of dollars on something practically nobody uses these days, Meta might have earned itself the top spot when it comes to smart glasses.

The release of collaborations with Ray-Ban and Oakley sunglasses have proven to be popular for a new type of gadget, and people who own these shades are only benefiting from the various updates that have come their way since release.

One recent addition could prove to be revolutionary when it comes to conversations, and if you're in the United States or Canada, you can take advantage of it soon.

As reported by TechCrunch, Meta announced on December 16 that a new update for its AI smart glasses will allow people to enable a new 'conversation-focus' feature that dynamically adapts the volume of the person you're speaking to, depending on the environment you're in.

This will be available for both the Oakley and Ray-Ban models, albeit only for owners in either the United States or Canada, with no clear plans to roll this out in any other countries at this point in time.

The feature itself was first announced at the company's Connect conference earlier this year, and it uses the open-ear speakers in the glasses to typically boost the volume of the person you're speaking to.

Imagine you're on a train, in a busy restaurant, or across the room from whoever you're chatting with. Now you'll be able to hear them clearly as if it were just the two of you talking to each other. This is in theory, as people haven't been able to fully test the software quite yet.

You can also adjust the volume of the conversation yourself by swiping the glasses' right-hand temple, giving you an option for customization if the default settings are either too loud or too quiet.

This isn't the first instance of a technology like this. Apple introduced similar features in its AirPods models – including one specifically designed to help those with hearing aids – but it adds another layer of functionality to Meta's smart glasses that help you feel immersed in the world.

Coming alongside this update is another added functionality that utilizes Spotify to play a song that corresponds to what you're looking at, which is perfect if you're looking for some tunes to soundtrack your life.

This could be something as simple as playing Christmas music whenever you're looking at a festive tree, or the happy birthday song whenever the cake and candles are rolled out, yet it seemingly can also provide more subtle options depending on where you are and what you're looking at, hopefully matching the mood in the process.
