iPhone users brand new feature 'worst thing Apple have ever released' as some claim they feel 'scammed'

Yes, it's even worse than iOS 18 zapping your battery

If there's one thing that Apple fans like to be, it's pressed. It seems that iPhone users are never happy, and if it's not complaining about how our battery life doesn't last anymore, it's that the new iPhone looks just the same as last year's model - but isn't that the point? From calling Image Playground app worthless to making our Mail app 'unusable', iPhone owners will always find something to grumble about.

In the latest edition of "What can we hate now?", iPhone haters are turning their attention to Apple Intelligence.

The announcement of Apple Intelligence in June 2024 was supposed to show Apple's commitment to the future as part of the tech industry's general push into artificial intelligence, but with general opinions surrounding AI still mixed, Apple isn't doing much to turn its critics around.

It's been a bit of a rough time for Apple, and with the Vision Pro being dubbed as little more than an expensive pair of goggles, the device has quickly faded out of existence. While Apple scored big with the iPhone, it's had a fair few flops over the years. The iPod Hi-Fi only lived for 554 days, while the Macintosh TV, Apple III, and the U2 iPod are all dubbed as failures.

Posting on X, one disgruntled techie asked whether Apple Intelligence or the Vision Pro has been a bigger flop.

7,120 people voted, and although it was close, 51% of you agreed that Apple Intelligence was the bigger disappointment.

Already in 2025, Apple had to suspend Intelligence's news feature for inaccurately summarizing news headlines. A BBC spokesperson told Sky News:

"These AI summarisations by Apple do not reflect - and in some cases completely contradict - the original BBC content.

"It is critical that Apple urgently addresses these issues as the accuracy of our news is essential in maintaining trust."

This is just the start of Apple Intelligence's problems, with others taking to X to share their grumbles.

Responding to the flop poll, one angry user wrote: "Vision Pro was like 'yeah this should have been a dev kit'. But Apple Intelligence was like their Nth high profile AI also ran, with a heaping side of smug that actually made things suck for existing customers within sacred pre existing workspaces."

Another added, "Apple’s intelligence is a far greater flop than Vision Pro. They had an opportunity to introduce the next generation of Siri, but they failed to meet expectations and decided to create some wrapper that talks to ChatGPT."

Elsewhere, someone chimed in, "Apple Intelligence is so dead at this point. Galaxy Al and Gemini are leagues above anything Apple is doing."

Another bemused user concluded: "I think Apple Intelligence might be the worst feature Apple has ever released." That's quite a statement looking at the company's checkered past of release, but sadly, it seems they aren't alone in their musings.

It's unclear what the future of Apple Intelligence is, or if it even has a future, but for the time being, the company's ever-angry users aren't afraid to let it know what they think of it.
