The Upside Down introduces a new mystery

Stranger Things is set to return to Netflix this month as you've never seen it before.
It felt like just last week we were glued to the Stranger Things finale. After five seasons, the show came to an explosive close with a two-hour final episode that left fans equal parts devastated and desperate for more.
The speculation about a supposed secret ninth episode ran wild almost immediately, and while that never materialised in the way some had hoped, Netflix did deliver a memorable SNL sketch send-off that gave the fanbase one last laugh.
That was roughly three months ago. And after the Duffer Brothers offered an ultimate behind-the-scenes look at the show, the world gradually moved on from Hawkins.

But April is here, and Netflix has something for anyone who isn't quite ready to let go.
Alongside some of the streaming giant's other big releases this month, including Apex, a new survival thriller starring Charlize Theron, and the long-awaited second season of Beef, Netflix is bringing fans back to Hawkins in a whole new way.
Stranger Things: Tales From '85 is an animated series that steps back in time to fill in the gaps between seasons two and three of the original show.
Set in Hawkins during the winter of 1985, the series follows the familiar gang as they 'unravel a paranormal mystery' rendered in a Telltale Games-esque animated style.
According to Netflix's Tudum: "Things for the Hawkins crew are anything but ordinary. Something must have survived from the Upside Down, and now it’s up to the group to stop the fearsome new monsters that are surfacing all over town."
The show is from showrunner and writer Eric Robles (known for Glitch Techs and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) and executive producers The Duffer Brothers.

“It’s like Hawkins Lab science meets Upside Down matter,” Robles, who serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, told Tudum. “When you put them together, those are the kinds of creatures we have in our world.”
The core gang is back, albeit with new voices behind them. Eleven is voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, with Luca Diaz as Mike, Benjamin Plessala as Will, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Elisha 'EJ' Williams as Lucas and Jolie Hoang-Rappaport taking on the role of Max.
Returning fan favourites Hopper and Steve are also along for the ride, voiced by Brett Gipson and Jeremy Jordan, respectively. Also joining the group is a brand new character, Nikki Baxter, who is played by Odessa A'zion.
The first season of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 premieres on both UK and US Netflix on 23 April.
